Does progesterone cream affect HPT results?

I got a very dark line just now on my HPT but I also started using natural progesterone cream a couple of days ago when we got our first faint BFP because I have had early m/c before and wanted to do what I could to help this bean out! Anyway, I am just wondering if that cream, or taking progesterone in other forms effects the results on the test? Could it be a darker line because of the progesterone?

Considering HPT's only detect the presence of HCG I highly doubt progesterone would give you a positive on a HPT. Best of luck and congrats!

I know that progesterone cannot affect HPTs... I've been on it on 2 other cycles, one when I seemed to have a BFP, but didn't get another line (possible chemical pregnancy) and once just to see if taking it before a BFP would help me get one.
Did not affect my HPTs at ALL

I do recommend getting progesterone suppositories from your doc as they are much stronger than the topical creams (evidenced by suppositories affecting BBTs and holding back AF when topical creams do not). They usually will put you on it if there is any reason to think it may help as they do not hurt anything once you're pregnant.

I have just lost two pregnancies early and my friend who is a midwife suggested trying it because it doesn't harm pregnancy. I used it last time too but it didn't make the pregnancy stick - it wont hold a pregnancy that is not viable, but could help keep one if low progesterone is a problem, however i think my m/c was more painful because i had been taking it.

who knows!

Having pretty severe cramping today so praying that this is not another one failing
