Doidy cup when out

Do you take it out with you? What do you put in it?
Was wondering what to give Alex in his when were out, as i pointed out to OH we cant use bottle water, so do i just bring my own in a little bottle?

I've used when out for lunch etc, I just ask for tap water and pour it in.
