Well done to all you girlies with older babies who manage it. Not sure I could for several reasons....
1.) I worry about him needing winding as very often when I pick him up if he has cried whilst going to sleep or woken after just a few hours he has brought up wind as I pick him up. This is the main reason
2.) he generally settles well & sleeps well
3.) I will leave him for 1-2min in the night, sometimes set his monitor music going - usually he settles or it has begun to escalate.
Billybump - looking at your ticker your baby seems too young to do CC - it's not recommended before 6 months. I think a minute or 2 to see if he settles is fine ( or to clear your head and regather your cool ) but I wouldn't go doing longer periods. A baby at his age cries coz he needs something even if that something is just comfort.

Well done you. My Lo does the hiccup cry in his sleep too and usually he goes to sleep properly after a while. I've only done short periods of cc 5 mins max because I'm still getting used to everything and want to reassure him still (plus I'm worried about being branded a bad mum) his dad tho will cuddle him as he spends so little time with us that he likes the cuddle. I think it takes a strong woman to do cc as its easier to feed them or cuddle them than listen to that heartbreaking wail even when its in their best interest
