Connor has FOB's surname (which I regret big time ), and I would LOVE him to have mine, although that's never going to happen. Is it possible to get it double-barrelled?
I don't know but I do know you can just call him your surname. I'm going to do this with my son as I'm in the same situation. It won't be changed legally or anything but at the doctors, school etc he is going to go by my surname and when he is older it's up to him to change it properly if he wants or keep his fathers name.
i was married so my kids have their fathers surname but since i left him the kids have been know by my surname. i doubt he will agree but once the boys are old enough (think its 12 in scotland anyway) they can decide to change it themselves.
I am getting James's name changed by deed poll. Cos of domestic violence I do not need his permission to change it. However he is already known as my name in the drs.
my docs didnt have a problem with it the only thing ive had a problem with is the bank coz they want official paperwork and obv i dont have any so ive closed their accounts.
id go back again and politely inform her of the law lol
Fraggles - I think it was just a cow of a receptionist. My mum works at a drs surgery and she was the one who told me that your child can be known as whatever you want!
