Drinking alcohol while Breastfeeding???

I am also a drinker myself - and my at my five year wedding anniversary about a month and a half after baby comes...I plan on pumping and dumping ; and pumping enough beforehand for her to take in a bottle while im gone.

Im really serious about breastfeeding, but it needs to be realistic. If I cant ever drink, I wont end up breastfeeding for very long I bet...at least not longer than 3 months I bet

Of course, my whole mindset could change....Im just craving a drink so bad right now!!

I had the odd glass of wine when i was feeding, only ever 1glass if that and maybe once a month or so.

Its totally up to you, i think you should do some research as you have already and then decide.

I've had a drink or two a few times since David was born. I've even had to breastfeed with alcohol in my system, but it was always so little (1 or 2 small glasses of wine in a 6' woman, and of course feeling no effect) that I never worried about it. I don't feel bad about it, and I plan to have a drink or two while I'm on vacation, too!

It's up to you. Have a few drinks and try to have them a few hours before a feed, and you'll be fine.
