Dropped a bottle but..

Violet has now dropped her second bottle (the 10pm one as well as the 2am one) but she's only taking an extra ounce (sometimes!) during the day - is this right?? She was having 5x6oz bottles but now she's only having 4x7oz and a lot of the time, she doesn't finish them.

I would have thought she'd want more during the day to compensate but she doesn't, and I'm worrying now that she's not having enough

I was wondering the same thing......Jac has dropped bottles before but made up for them the next day by having the extra again.

But for the past 2 days he's gone from 6 to 5 bottles and not wanting any extra only 2 oz topup before bed....and sleeping from 9.30 till 6.30.

Sorry i couldnt help but i'm hoping someonw will have some input.

Hannah would go off her bottle(s) at different times but she always eventually went back up (never got over 24 ounces though). I'd give it a few days and see if it goes back on its own

I thought it might have been the heat making her sleep longer and not wanting as much to eat.

But then I realised she's been like this before the hot weather so it can't be (roughly a week, if not more).

I guess if she wanted more then she'd let me know. I just can't get my head around how long they stay having the same amount of formula for.

Hannah got up to 24 ounces and pretty much stayed steady at that until she was weaned (minus a growth spurt here and there). She's always grown really well though and in the words of both doctors "Is a good size"

Babies know how much they need, she'd tell you if she needed more imo

She has her first bottle at 6am-6.30am and I offer 8oz but she'll only take 6 or so, then next is 10.30am where I offer 7oz but she'll leave an ounce or so, then 2pm where she'll take near enough the full 7oz and then 6pm - I offered her 8oz tonight and she actually took the whole lot, most other nights she'll take 6-7oz out of 8.

Bear in mind she was polishing 6oz bottles the other week and has been on 7oz bottles for a while. I tried offering 8oz as first and last bottles just in case but she rarely takes it. Tonight has been the only time she's taken that much.

So she's doing 6am,10,2, 6pm. WHat time she go down for you for the night?

My LO on 8,12,4,8 give or take an hour, and once in night from 5-6ish. Need that one to go an hour or two more then i can get up and stay up loL!

She starts getting sleepy about 8pm and then doesn't "wake up" (she probs does but she doesn't cry etc) until she wants feeding in the morning.

Violet started out at waking up between 4am and 5am but over a week or so it's gradually got later to about 6am and the last few days have been 6.30am.

She did wake up the other day at 4.30am so I changed her bum and thought "no its too early seeing as you've been going until 6am" so I just gave her a dummy and she went back to sleep for a couple of hours - sometimes I mistake her wanting to comfort suck as being hungry.

Hope your LO starts sleeping in a bit longer for you - I was in the same position not long ago.. Thinking why can't it be another hour and then I can just get up!
