Once we start on fruit/veg purees how do you do these when out and about.

I plan to do the home made Ice cube route, but from what I understand (very little hence the question) the food needs to be reheated after its defrosted, then cooled again and given to LO.

How would I heat this up if we're out?

To be honest I just missed out her lunch/dinner if we were out and about - I still do and she is 8 months!!

I dont reheat if its just fruit. I certainly reheat til piping hot if it I am reheating meat.

Most places today have microwaves or would give you a bowl of hot water to sit a cup in?:flower:

I would probably just miss it too at this age, and once she's 6 months you can try just having finger foods to offer her to play about with so she can participate in meals if she is fussing to join in.

I moved quickly from purees to finger foods so when we were out Hannah just got pieces of our meals (steamed veggies, bread etc.)

i also have gone done the ice cube route, and i dont reheat when defrosted if i am out and about. my lo is nearly 8 months and never had a prob not re heating!

We've been making purees for him but I keep a few Ella's Kitchen pouches for when I'm out and about. They don't need to be heated and you can squeeze them straight onto a spoon, so there's no waste and you only need to take a spoon and a bib x

I have never reheated either - but tbh used ellas kitchen too when out, just far far easier x

ooh thanks. I didn't see the need really for re-heating, but thats what the book recommended so I was thinking it should be done like that. I assumed if it was just veg/fruit then it'd be fine not to be reheated

If you have a small cool bag, you could take a yoghurt or fruit puree to give and then when lo is a bit older you can give finger foods such as veg off your plate or carry some breadsticks etc with you xx
