EBM How much cream??

how do you do breast compressions?

Polaris... mm, but Thomas and Hazel have had the same trouble

I was actually just thinking that after I posted. I wonder if that is a possible explanation? Thomas's wind troubles have totally eased up now though, I would say that he just has 'normal' wind now. How is Hazel doing with the wind now?

Of course I'm going to be the odd ball... I'll pump about 6 oz and half of it will be cream! (it is making me loose the weight though!)

The breastmilk expressed in the morning will be more watery - it's designed to quench a baby's thirst after (alledgedly!) sleeping for a longer period at night! It gets more concentrated during the day though so milk expressed in the late evening will have more fat in it..

Likewise the milk content changes as the baby gets older hence why most nicus won't accept milk (in this country at any rate!) after the mother has a baby herself of over 4 months (I think!) as the milk content isn't right for a prem/newborn anymore!

So does that mean it's bad to give milk pumped in the morning for an evening feed? I pump first thing in the morning and at about 7pm and mix the 2 together to give a bottle feed at about 6pm.
(Sorry to gatecrash your thread)

Np - it's still relevant anyway :)

I don't think it's 'bad' - but night milk is thought to be sleep inducing... so you might just have different behaviour?

It depends but usually not a huge amount. About 1/2oz out of 3oz.

For every 4oz I pump I get about 2.5 oz of cream. I'm guessing this is why myiah is 17lb 2oz already.

We always give the bottle as second to last feed - not tried as the last feed as don't think he'd settle after it - now I know why, thanks.
