I was all set on Eden and have been calling her that but a lot of people are shortening it to Edie (which is so cute but does rhyme with our surname: Beatty)
So I understand there are worse things in life than a rhyming nn with a last name but, it got me second guessing. So, I will throw it out there:

Eden Rose Beatty (possibly Edie Beatty)
or
Ivy Rose Beatty (or possibly a longer name like Ivanka shortened to Ivy?)

??

They are both beautiful :flower:. I really love Eden at the moment though . Just keep correcting people if they keep shortening it, I had to do this with my daughter Sofia, people kept shortening it to Sofe or Sophie :growlmad:, I kept correcting it and eventually everyone got the message :winkwink:. xx

I like them both but i see what you mean about Edie Beatty, although Edie is one of my fave names.

How about Elsie Rose?, just thought i'd put it out there :).

x

I really like both names - I'm swaying more towards Eden though, it's so beautiful. I also like Ebony Rose - not sure how you'd feel about that but I'll just put it out there anyway, I think it's a really pretty name :D

I prefer Eden. I think as others have said if you correct people then they'll eventually get the message!

But Ivy is also a lovely name, I think I prefer it as just Ivy though not a longer form. But that's just my opinion =]

I prefer Eden, don't think it being shortened matters too much as there won't be many times when her full (shortened) name is spoken out loud anyway

Ivy might be prone to teasing (poison ivy)? but then kids will always find something whatever name you choose!

Nice to hear you are sticking with Eden - it's a lovely name! Just keep correcting people if you don't want them to shorten it to Edie.

I prefer Ivy, I really do not like Eden.

Just my opinion

ivy was my nans name so im biased !!! i think ivy is a beautiful name x

My friend has a nearly 3 year old called Eden - everyone assumed she was a 'he' when they first heard the name!! I wasn't sure on the name at first but it really suits my friends lo she is a cutie.

Ivy - reminds me of old people or poision ivy.

So Eden for me!

I love the name Eden -- so gorgeous! I would suggest that you start correcting people now... there is no reason they need to "shorten" or nn a beautiful "short" name like Eden!

Edie Beatty :nope:

Ivy is pretty too. Very pretty! But i do recall a teacher on here once saying that an Ivy in her class got teased all the time... kids would say "Eewww poison Ivy..." and not want her to touch them! Rotten kids! Lol.
