egg doner or not

im 41 and am considering using egg doner if i use a egg from a 25 to 30 year old when looking at ivf success rates do i look at the one for the age of the egg doner or do i look at the one for the age of myself any help would be welcome xx

Pregnancy rates for women over 40 with egg donors have up to 50% success rates depending on the clinic. What you would have to look at, and i would suppose, is the success rates any given clinic has for women in your age group for pg's with donor eggs. That seems a bit specialised so you may ony be able to get one bit of this information and not broken down into age etc.

The age of the donor is the most important, although I think the lining of your womb would also be taken into consideration too. All the success rates I've seen with donor eggs are very good, sometimes over 50%, depends on the clinic.

Hi Faye, I'm 43 and have just discovered I'm pregnant after receiving donor eggs. The clinic I went to only use donors who are in their 20's and have not previously had children and they don't use egg sharing. My endometrium lining was very thin due to my periods having stopped so I was put on a course of progynova which helped to thicken the lining up to 6.8 mm at my last scan. I continued on the progynova until the day of the ET and I was told that my lining had increased in thickness further (I wasn't told to what thickness) and I have to continue taking progynova and cyclogest until Week 12 of the pregnancy.
