Will I be able to go to work afterward? Or do I need to take the whole day off? I went back to work after my IUIs, but wasn't sure about IVF......

Hi vineyard,
I had my IVF cycle on Dec but it's a failed.
Anyway, my doctor did advise that it's better if we could take more rest for the first 2 days.

Just 3 things to take note, no lifting, no intercourse are allowed & No exercise.

Hope this helps. Anyway, u may ask your FS for opinion...

Yep, you can go to work but be sure to take it easy.

It is recommended that you don't do much at all the few days following transfer.

As Strawberry said, no heavy lifting. Stick to walking for exercise and don't let your body overheat.

My last transfer (5 day blast transfered) I went back to work about 3 days after, I took it easy etc. This next one I will have 3 days off, work for 1 1/2 days then 4 days off so that will be good.

Where do you work? I work at a vet clinic so I have to be really careful.

I had two days off after my ET and then did light duties for the first two weeks. I got my :bfp: but then lost it a few days later - but that's another story. My friend had ET on the same day and took a full two weeks off work afterwards and she got a :bfn:. I don't think there's any increase in chance of success by taking loads of time off work, but would recommend light duties - no lifting over 10lb, no intercourse, and only light exercise.

Good luck
