Empty Sac...Absolutely heartbroken

Hi jaffacake, I'm going through a similar thing now, empty sac at 6.4 with hcg levels at 37000! I just wondered how things turned out for you? Hopefully well! X x

That's weird I haven't been on here for ages and just saw your message today! Well I have my (almost) 8 month old baby sound asleep so it all worked out ok! I've only come back on here because I've just found out I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant again!!

Try not to worry, they gave us 'how to deal with having a miscarriage' leaflets etc and we thought the worst but t.g it was fine. I'd had such a heavy bleed (like a really heavy period with bright red blood) and I was convinced it was over. Try and stay positive and let me know how you get on xx

Aww congratulations!! So happy for you!! So when did you eventually see that your sac wasn't empty then? I just can't hold out much hope if I am as far as 6.4 and there's nothing but I have heard stories! Can't believe you were given mc leaflets and everything was fine!!!! X x x

So I was just looking back through old emails to work it out dates and have taken the due date I was given at my 12 week scan.

So when I had the bleed I was 6 +4 on a Friday night so had to wait all weekend for hospital appointment! Had the first internal scan which is when I would have been 7 weeks which is when they saw an empty sac and sent me away with leaflet after taking bloods.

Had more bloods taken at 7+2 and called back the next day and they confirmed levels had risen. I went for another internal scan the next day so I would have been 7+ 4 which is when they confirmed all was well and they could hear the heartbeat so it was was quite a rollercoaster week!

Sorry for the long waffle. So maybe you just have a little shy bean like my munchkin was! Oh I do hope it's the same for you honey x Good luck x

Hi Filipenko, I am going off my ovulation date and at the time of my last ultrasound I was supposed to be 7+4 but was dated 5+4 by my GC. They didn't mention anything about a yolk sac, embryo but looking back I think I did see the start of the yolk sac but not sure.

Point being! You are still so early and I know how hard it is waiting around for an answer. Early ultrasounds are great if you get to see everything at once but torture if it leaves any question dangling out there - just torture. I go for my next ultrasound Friday, when do you go?

It is so hard not to worry but when I saw that empty sac, I lost it for days, crying so hard but it was so hard to accept that literally there was nothing I could do but rest, stay positive and take care of myself for my baby. Hold onto that. Someone gave the mantra "Today I'm pregnant and I love my baby!". I repeat that too to keep things in perspective.

Thank you! We didn't expect it to happen again so quickly because first time we used a CBFM! The thought of having 2 under 2 is scary but exciting! Looking at my dates I think I'm due 28th August so I'm expecting almost same time as you! Congrats to you too!

Thanks so much, that is an amazing story and it gives me a lot of hope! You must have been over the moon at the 7.4 scan! So were the doctors surprised? I think I would pass out in shock if that happened to me! I'll keep you updated and thanks for getting back to me, so kind of you x x x Congratulations on your pregnancy now too! Thanks jezzielin, I really hope everything turns out for you too, it's just devastating isn't it. I'm ashamed to say that in my mind I've accepted it's a mc but then my history doesn't do me any favours. It would be a cruel start if everything does turn out well for me this time considering my mc's but I have more hope now! Still mentally prepared. I will go for another scan next week maybe on wednesday or thursday. They never did my bloods again so I'm going to ask for those. My level was 37,000 two ago, and i still have symptoms especially tiredness but my bbs are not sore anymore. Let me know how you get on and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers x x x

Hi per, Jaffa is not bleeding this time round, but when she was over a year ago everything turned out well as she has her lovely baby now! This is an old thread you see but Jaffa kindly updated today. I hope everything turns out perfectly for you too! X x x

Jaffa, just one more question sorry! When you saw an empty sac at 7 weeks, do you mean completely empty or did it have a yolk sac at least by then? Also are your cycles long or around 28 days? Mine are 27 days long. Thanks!

My cycles I think were 32 days long and the sac was completely empty! Let me know how you get one, thinking of you hun and hope it all works out x
