ever had problems with boots hpt?

has anyone ever had a boots own test that didn't work properly? I'm really worried, coz i did a first response on wednesday and the line was slightly lighter than the first response ones i did on sunday and monday, so i went out and bought some boots ones to put my mind at rest, and it came up positive straight away and slightly darker than first response, since it was a twin pack, i did the other last night, but the positve line was soooo faint that i can barely see it.
I dont know if I didn't pee on it enough or something coz it seemed to take ages to start moving up into the window!

I'm so so scared atm!

well the first response ones i did with 2nd morning wee and the, the first boots one was in the afternoon and the 2nd boots one was last night. I would have thought the hcg should be strong enough to detect any time of day now tho?

I've got my fmu stored in the fridge atm and im going to go buy more first response in a minute lol

little update.. I've just been and dipped a first response in my saves up fmu and the line i got is so faint that im not even sure its actually there.

Just gave my midwife a call, but she wasn't there so explained it to another midiwfe, who seems to think that my 6 positives must have been wrong!!! So now I'm waiting for my midwife to call me back this afternoon and apparently she'll probably book me in for a 6 week scan to see whats gone on which is 2 weeks away yet

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your tests - I know they are expensive - but have you thought of getting a digi? - I used a clearblue so that it can literally say 'pregnant' or 'not pregant'

Are you late for your yet? cos it may just be too early - as I see from your ticker you are 4wks 1 day

Sorry your going through this sweetie, but from what you have said and how early you are, it could be a chemical pregnancy.

Probably not what you wanted to hear, but Im being honest.

Request some hcg bloods from your m/w or doc you will get a sure answer in less than the 2 weeks it will take for your scan.

Lines can differ slightly , But if they are becoming bearley visable to see , I would ask Midwife/Dr to do hcg level blood test asap .
If ever in doubt make sure they see you hun , I agree have you thought about trying a digi test to see if it says pregnant as it will hopefully stop you worrying about faint lines .
Keep your chin up hun stay positive and radiant untill you know any different . xxx .

I've not done a digi yet, probably because i'm just too scared of seeing not pregnant! Think I might have to tomorrow tho coz its driving me mad not knowing whats going on. Still waiting for my midwife to phone me atm, so i'll ask about a blood test when she does.

I've just done another ic coz my aunty thought that leaving my fmu standing for an hour and a half while i went to buy tests may have effected it, but im not convinced. The ic arn't getting fainter tho, maybe coz they're so more sensitive so take longer to get fainter if something has gone wrong??

As for my period, this was the first month of trying after what im pretty sure was a chemical pregnancy, and before that i was on the pill, so i have no idea when AF was meant to be due, but based on my charting on fertility friend it predicted that i was due yesterday.

I have a pic of my lil row of tests, just to make sure that im not imagining the lines getting weaker! (the last one at the bottom is the one i did this morning with my saved up fmu. i dont think the REAllY faint line is even visable on the pic.)

Sooo sorry to keep going on lol I thought id dip another first response in after the ic aswell, and now ive got a line back on there which isn't any lighter than the one dated 10/9 on the above pic!
Also I forgot to mention that I've had no spotting/bleeding, or pains or anything, and my temps are still going up even more.

Could be just a dodgy test sweets. I tested a few days ago as my sore boobs had disappeared and still had a cb cross.

I think you have done the right thing by retesting - do you feel any more clearer or even more confused?

I think I'm more confused now to be honest! I can accept that the really really really faint one i did this morning may have been coz i left the urine standing in the bathroom for ages. And the boots one that was really really really faint i did just before bed last night, and since i dont definately know I was due on yester it may well just be too early to test that late in the day.
But that doesn't explain why the line got lighter on wednesday, so i'm a bit worried about that still, unless it is just my eyes thinking it got lighter!

Being someone who is a POAS addict - I would suggest getting a digi, waiting until tomorrow and testing with FMU - on the positive side - has not arrived.

I tested from 6DPO - and sometimes wish I didnt, I didnt get my until day after due, but I sometimes think that being able to test early gets our hopes up for what could be a chemical pregnancy in the end.

Like one of the girls said - if you are upset and worried - ask your doctors for a blood test

As long as you are not bleeding or are in any pain, I would hold out for that phone call or buy a digi one to confirm. It is still very early days. I am not that much further ahead of you (I think my ticker is wrong) and have not tested for a few days. I long to get to the stage where I feel pregnant and safe. Because I tested positive so so very early, I think the problem is that is does not feel real hence I have tested about 6 times. The trouble with testing with different tests, there is always the problems of discrepancies - I would try and stick with the same brand so that it is consistent.

Well they are definitely lines there, no doubt about it. They get stronger I believe the further along you go. I'd get a digi one if it were me for sure.

I know everyones saying get a digi but because they're quite a bit weaker than others I want to wait a few more days since I'm not positive that af is even due yet and dont want to risk seeing a negative just becasue its still too early!

I think that is the most sensible thing to do tbh. As difficult as it is, try and hold out as you say and test with the digi in a few days time. Hopefully, those magic words will come up and all your worries and concerns will disappear.

Not sure if this helps - but I tested on day due with tescos own brand - got the faintest of lines , Tested next day on tescos own and still got faint line ( FMU) so thought 'sod it', used same urine sample and used clearblue digi - got a 'pregnant'

I am not sure how sensitive each of these were - but I didnt think I would get the answer I wanted on the digi - as I thought they were supposed to be not as senitive

Anyway - last comment now - but even though digis are supposed to be less sensitive - if you get a not pregnant - you know that it could be too early and until arrives it is not over, however if you get a pregnant - then you can raise your hopes a bit - bearing in mind its early days and you are not sure if is actually late
