Hi there,

am posting in here as am hoping that someone may have had experience of this and may be able to advise me?
OH and I got married end of July but booked honeymoon to India over xmas, I fell pregnant (lovely but accidently!) so was not expecting to be pregnant whilst there. I have had a visit to the nurse today (who was as much help as a bloody chocolate teapot). Anyway, upshot is I should have typhoid injection and they recommend malaria tablets. I understand that there could be a minor risk with these? Am seeking further medical advice as I really didn't trust her proffessional opinion, but was wondering if anyone had had these or a similar experience whilst pregnant?
I'm currently 12+2, but will be 17 weeks when I travel.
I hate the thought of cancelling our honeymoon and not having xmas on the beach!! But will not risk any harm to the baby (of course!)
thanks x x

Hi! I've no experience with vaccinations, but didn't want to read and run. I just did a quick google search and it seems to vary for typhoid depending if it's an oral vaccination or an injection and whether it's an active or inactive vaccination. This is what I found on Malaria https://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/infections/202893.html

If you decide to cancel/postpone your holiday and you have travel insurance, your insurance company might cover any cancellation costs seeing as it might/could be a health risk to you.

I'd perhaps ring a clinic that specialise in travel vaccinations and see what they have to say.

Good luck! (and congratulations!) :flower:
