Experience with chemical pg? Is this normal?

Hi ladies, I was just wondering if what I'm experiencing is normal. I've been receiving a positive pregnancy test for a week now, and on Thursday night I started bleeding, went to the ER Friday morning and they told me I was having a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage.

The bleeding only lasted 3 days, I never had cramps, and even three days after bleeding started i'm still testing positive on HPT.

Could it be that the HCG is just taking a while to leave my system? What are your experiences with this?

I just feel so lost and confused, have no one to talk to about it as I know no one who's experienced this, and I just need some support...

Hi hun, I'm sorry your going through this it can really mess with your head and heart, with mine my tests were not getting darker, I started to bleed at 4+2 and retested 2 days later and they were completely neg.
How far along do you think you are?

I'm having a similar situation myself. Heavy bleeding for a few hours 2 days ago and hpts are all strong positives still. I was thinking they would atleast fade but it may just take a bit of time. Xx

It really is messing with my head, and I'm starting to think I'm holding on to lost hope. My hpt's haven't really gotten darker since the bleed, they've just stayed the same. I'm starting to think it just takes longer for HCG to leave the urine than it does the blood. So upsetting

I have no idea how far along I would be. Didn't even have time to make an OB appointment before I started bleeding. My guess would be super early, maybe even as early as 4 weeks.

If yours are still *strong* positives then I would say you're still in the game, also because you only bled for a few hours. My bleeding lasted 3 days, and I've only ever gotten faint positives (although definitely pink and definitely there).

I think it would be best for you to get in to your OB/GYN. Just to make sure. Everybody's bodies are very different. I did have spotting with my son and he didn't show up on the ultrasound until I was 7 wks. Please go to your doctor. Also, my recent miscarriage has been so complicated so even if you are miscarrying, I think you should go to your doctor for care and to make sure all goes as it should. Take care!

I am definitely scheduling an appointment with an OB tomorrow, I'm just hoping they can get me in soon since I'll be a new patient. I just wanted to see if anyone else thought there may be a chance I could still be pregnant, because I'm still having positive tests. Thank you hun

Like momof3 said it's best to get checked, if your very early you would expect tests to turn neg quickly but as yours havnt it's def worth another look.
Holding onto hope is natural if your hpts are not fading hun. I hope you get some good news as afterall bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common. Pray it turns out well for you xx

Thank you! My second appointment my beta only rose from a 5 to a 7. I had a third one done today and should get results tomorrow. It's not looking good though But on a happier note, OH said we can start trying in a year! I'm so excited! I thought it would be YEARS before he would agree, so that makes this process a little bit easier

I always call mine a Miscarrige but it was more a chemical. The first day I was blood I went to the er were they said my level was 22 and it was just early or I had a threatened miscarriage the next day I bled heavy like a period and it continued. I went to the er again and my level was a 7. The bleeding continued and all together lasted about 6 days. Yours is deffenintly different then mine. Did they make sure it's not tubal ? Your symptoms sounds kinda more like a tubal since the bleeding wasn't like a period length and your level rised a few. Good luck and sorry for the loss.

How long after did you test positive on an hpt? It's been over a week now and I'm still testing positive. And the dr never called me Friday with 3rd beta results so now I have to wait all weekend!

They gave me an ultrasound and made sure it wasn't tubal at the ER. So still confused

My pregnancy test was negative at the hospital the 2nd time i went when my beta was only 7. There was a girl on here who had a miscarriage early on and continued to get positives for a long time that would get darker and lighter then darker again but it wasnt tubal either. I would give it a few days and test again to see if its gone of lightend up.
