I looked up the law and what it looks like is it's legal to feed any baby any age anywhere, the 6mo thing is for what action you can take had you been discriminated against and asked to leave. If the baby is under 26wks you can take action under the maternity or sexual discrimination ...if they are 27wks or older you can still take them to court but only for sexual discrimination. So either way you are allowed to nurse in public, it isn't illegal at any age. This article helps explain it, but when you google it there are lots of things explaining it

It's not ILLEGAL to BF a baby after 6 months! Or did I read that wrong

The law as it stands means that you are protected under the sex discrimination act. So you can BF your child of any age in a public place and if you are asked to stop you can take civil action against them - ie it's not a criminal offence so they cant be arrested for asking you to stop.

The new Equlity Bill which is in the process of being passed, will make it a CRIMINAL offence to even approach a BFing mum and say anything to her ie. you would be able to ask a copper to arrest them for asking you to stop. BUT this will only cover babies upto the age of 6 months. Which is a nonsense as babies dont always look their age! Mine looks older than 6 months thats for sure!

So if someone asks you to stop now you could talk civil action but then it's your word against theirs and if you are in say a cafe then it's a private business so they can get around it that way.

Lol it did hurt? I use breastmilk for everything...it's cured 2 cases of pink eye And many other things haha
