only seeing this thread now and looks like its cat lovers thread! yay! trying to resist urge to show off cat, I had two but one went missing.

There are certain things that cats hate look up it up on the net and put them in your garden and they'll stay away xx

Like a big 90lb rottweiler?

Any big dog will do hun :haha: Our 2 dogs keep all cats away, and my next door have 2 dogs so cats dont really come near the new house :happydance:

The cats around my mums area have attitude, the walk around the tops of the fence taunting the dogs.
I think its some local cat dare game, jump down and see how far you get before the dog shows up and you have to leg it :)

My cat is a strictly indoor cat purely because hes petrafied of outdoors but the other cats we have had have always had a litter tray in the outhouse and use that rather then pooing in the garden and everywhere else.

Our cat ( the one that lives with me) has even been known to use the toilet, I walked in on him one night about 2am and turned the bathroom light on and he was squat over the toilet and just suddenly looked at me as if to say "exscuse me a bit of privacy please" I was half asleep so just turned the light back off and went back to bed a little confused :)
Just wish he would lurn to flush it behind him but then hes a typical male.

Wow 24 years? oldest cat I ever heard. My other halfs mums cat was 19 years old. Mine was 12 and she left one day in summer never to be seen again. :cry:I think she went off to die or something bad happened to her she always comes when called. She came everywhere on walks with me. This is her in the bluebells in May, she went missing 2 months after this.

Missey the 24 year old used to walk down to the end of the road to wait for me coming home from school, if my mum was picking me up she used to stop the car at the end of the road and the cat would jump in the car to come and get me :)
There is a big Tescos store at the back of my mums garden and everytime we used to go shopping he would jump the fence and walk across the car park and sit waiting at the store door as if to say "nah nah beat you" and then the amount of times he would jump in the car and come back with the shopping :)

Salem walked with me like a dog, never strayed, People would laugh when they seen a cat coming for a walk. Good times.

Missey was a sod for going in the neighbors house, he once came home with a whole cooked chicken still hot, the amount of appolegies we had to make for him and replacing food :)

Haha my cat used to come back with a lot of chicken and stuff in the summer and we wondered where he was getting it from. Turned out our neighbours had a lot of barbecues lol.
I don't mind the neighbours cats coming in along as my cats and the dog doesn't mind but i don't want it to start thinking its his home so we have to keep putting him back outside.

I have a cat who I keep indoors, only because there are a few cats in our street that are massive compared to him and as soon as I got my kitten they used to sit on my window sills and wait for me to let him out, poor thing wouldn't stand a chance against them.

I agree cats should be kept inside.

I doubt people would let their dogs run around through peoples gardens so why should cat be able to?

Wow, has this thread come back to life?

Anyway, we made the decision to allow our cats go out a few weeks after Thomas was born (after he came from hospital with his blood infection and I became neurotic with keeping things clean).

My cats tend to... sit on our wall, shit/pee in our garden and Cassie will climb the 80ft tree at the end of our garden. No joke, she is mental. They refuse to go out in the rain other than a quick wee/poo on our grass then back into the warm. I think it's because they're so used to being indoors for over a year they don't want to wander.

Recent pictures of Cassie, Gwyn is quite nervous and hard to get photos of so just imagine him as a bigger version of Cassie but with 2 green eyes.

Cats arnt legal property you cant get done if your cat poohs somewhere. Its in the law. I dont think cats should always be in doors they are not meant to be all the time, I have mine in part time she goes out during the day but never at night.
