Faint positives but negative digital???

Hi I am new here...Does this sound like it could be another M/C to you??

I have a 5 yr old daughter and then had my first miscarriage 2 months ago in November 2011. I had not been to the Dr. yet because I was waiting for my Medicaid to be approved, so I dont know how far along I was...About 5 weeks I think. I went to the hospital when I started bleeding, but there was nothing on the Ultrasound and my HCG was all the way at 20. (I had previously tested positive on both digital and lined tests). Bled for about 4 days, went back to the E.R. and was told my HCG was down to 5 and confirmed the M/C.

I had 1 period since starting on 12/20/11. My cycles are usually 21-25 days long, but have been longer in the past. I was supposed to start my period sometime last week, but when it never came--I took a FRER test like 3 days ago on Friday 1/13. FAINT positive, but it was there. Took a digital (Clear Blue)--NOT PREGNANT. I was thinking maybe my HCG had not had enough time to increase??? Saturday 1/14 took another FRER AND a Family Dollar Inverness +/- test... BOTH faint positive, but definitely a positive line on both. Yesterday 1/15...did the same 2 tests again PLUS another Clearblue digital. The lined tests again were FAINT POSITIVE and the digi was NOT PREGNANT. So now I'm worried that my HCG is not doubling like it should be.... I think I am about 14 dpo today but I'm not sure, because I don't chart.

I have had all kinds of pregnancy symptoms...sore nipples, tiredness, thirsty and hungry all the time, vivid dreams, and this morning felt sick to my stomach when i woke up etc. The only other thing I noticed is that my nipples aren't quite as sore today as they have been the past few days.


I guess my question is has anyone had any results like this before??? with faint positive line tests but negative digital tests for several days in a row-- right after a M/C--and gone on to have healthy pregnancies? I am so afraid that my HCG is not doubling and I do not want to miscarry again


Any input is appreciated....

How come you haven't had blood work yet to confirm pregnancy? The reason I ask is you had a recen't MC, and it's important that they are documented so if you MC again, the dr can check your hormones for progesterone levels and such.

I have an appointment for 1/30. I am on a certain type of Medicaid (government assistance) because i recently lost my job. I am only covered by insurance at a select few health care providers, and that is the soonest any of them can fit me in.

When I went through the M/C, i had not yet been approved for the Medicaid, so I just went to the E.R. and they billed me for it. I might just go to an E.R. again just to see what my blood levels are....2 weeks is SOOOO far away and I want to get some kind of information sooner

I think it is a good idea to go to the ER and get some bloods done. Its a pain being billed for it but its got to be worth it for at the very least piece of mind.

Doesn't the medicaid cover ER visits? I dont know much about it, but I wish you the very best of luck hun!

I'm wondering if you could post a pic the next time you test? That might help us out some. FRER USUALLY picks up sooner than cb digi.
Medicaid does cover ER visits, unless they've made changes??

sorry for your loss hun..
i did have something similar happen to me just like this..i waited one cycle after i had my d&c..and got preggers...i kept getting faint + lines on all my tests for like a week..but the digitals kept coming up negative..my gp finally said to come in for b/w and scan and before i got there that very morning, i m/c...
this may not be the case for you..yours could just simply be that you haven't started pumping out enough hormone yet..i just wanted to share my experience with you...gl to you and i hope your baby beanie sticks

If you took 2 test several days apart and the line was still faint then it doesnt sound like hcg is rising. I would expect digital to be pos by now but you never know. You could just have started low. Id retest in a couple days if no bfp. I dont think you need to go to the er for bloods; they are just going to tell you to follow up with your dr. I guess u could go for bloods b\c if you are miscarrying then it would be 2 and it would be important for your dr to know. Do youhave any pics of your test? Were they maybe evaps? Well it ended up being m/c or chemical pregnancy, i started bleeding about a few days after i initially posted this. And the Dr. confirmed i am no longer pregnant

I believe I have been m/c due to a short luteal phase. i started taking B6 and applying Femgest progesterone cream last week, so we will see what happens
