fake perfumes?

does anyone know if the store tj hughes sell fake perfumes?

i received loads of perfume for xmas, but half of it appeared not as it seemed upon closer inspection.

apparently mil buys all her pressies at tj hughes and unfortunately she always gets me and dh a gift set of something rather cheap and vile smelling bless her

this year i got one called 'sex in the city'
now im not a fan of the film, but wasnt it called sex and the city? the scent was overpoweringly sickly and burnt my skin!

dh also got some burberry selection box
that smelt like air freshner and loo cleaner! nothing at all like aftershave. mil is kind hearted, but we arnt wearing this stuff im afraid! lol

Was the sen in the city a selection or just one perfume. I have tried the mixed box which has a few fragrances and was quite nice and what mens burberry was it because I tested one last week for my OH for Christmas?

Definitely sound fake, or cheap at least, from your description!

it was a mixed box called 'love' sitc...but i definitely thought it should be satc if it is meant to be real merchandise. the writing looked the same and all that

dh had burberry touch and weekend minis.
i used to have the womens version of these from boots, and touch was lush. maybe they had gone off or something.

Some of the sets are SITC and SATC. So it be hard to say btu I was going to buy them for my sister as her Christmas present but ended with a dvd instead and unfortunally I tried a diff Burberry I think I tried touch

Take them to Trading Standards and they will check it, if its making ppls skin melt off then they will tell TJ Hughes to get it of the shelf.

TJ Hughes can't sell fake products, as no other store can.. Take the products back and demand a refund

Perfumes loose their scent when they'r old or exposed to direct light (even in their boxes) for long time. Sounds like old or ruined perfumes. They also loose it if the bottles are shaked or transfered from one place to another in a bad way.

Take them back. A store like TJ Hughes shouldnt be selling fake items. If they are report them to trading standards

That would be my reasoning for it too ... why do you think they can get away with selling them for like £5 when they are £40 elsewhere.
