Me and my boyfriend are currently pregnant and we love the name Studlee Tanner for a boy! Everyone we tell hates it! Like really really hates it. I would love to hear opinions about the name. What do you guys think???

It's not my style!! But I think if u like it use it!! Honestly I just wouldn't tell people your name choices and once baby is here people will be too busy ooooing and arrrring over baba and his name will just automatically become him so people won't give there opinion !! X

I'm my opinion it's pretty bad. It'll get shortened down to Stud and that's just asking to be made fun of. And the "lee" at the end of the name rather than "ly" seems feminine. You see it a lot here...Kaylee and Ashlee and Jaycee and Baylee just for examples.

Let me clarify. My name is Kaylee and the lee part of my name runs in mine and my boyfriends families. Also he would by go by Studlee he would go by Tanner.

Wouldn't go by studlee... Also my boyfriend is absolutely in love with the name. I told him I may change my mind and he said it broke his heart to hear that. I don't want to disappoint him! :(

Im with your family, sorry really don't like it at all. It just sounds made up and a bit strange

And if he's going to go by Tanner, use that as a first name with 'Studlee' second.

agreed - to be brutally honest, it sounds like a joke.. sorry!

I read your title and thought what an interferring family but when i saw ur name i have to agree with them. I mean if u both love it of course its ur choice.
What about dudley tanner? Studley sounds a bit
Porn starry. Sorry

Honestly not a fan of either Studlee or Tanner, but if you like it go for it.

If he's going to be called Tanner, why not Tanner Studlee? It flows better IMO.

Also like PP suggestion of Dudley. Just gives that extra oomph that a name needs iykwim?

Tanner is nice but I have to admit, Studlee does remind me a bit of the jokey names that porn stars and strippers use. I would be concerned about how it would sound on the school roll-call, or when he's an adult. Dr. Studlee? Judge Studlee?

Now that said, if you both adore it, go for it. But if you don't intend to call him by that name, I agree with the suggestion you make it the middle name instead. It's always confusing when people go by their middle name, since he's going to have to correct every new teacher, boss etc.

I think the why bird said it perfectly. The name will not suit a professional job, and does honestly sound like someone's porn star name!
I know that it must really hurt to hear that people don't like your name, but you did ask for honest opinions. If you're that determined to name a son that, then go for it... but try and give him a normal middle name, so at least he can go by that instead. He will not thank you for such a unique name.

What about Stan Lee/Stanlee/Stanley (although everyone will think you love comics! :haha:)
Bradlee/Bradley
Finnlee/Finnley

Or even hyphenating them so Brad-Lee, Stan-Lee, Finn-Lee?

Sorry I think it's awful too (hope that doesn't offend you) I like Tanner I think that's nice just Studlee reminds me of a dogs name .. but absolutely don't let anyone put you off if you and your partner love it, he's your baby :)

first off its fine to go by the middle name so dont let people put you off and Tanner is an ok name

Studlee is a bit iffy though it sounds like a stripper or porn star, you can still keep the lee (lee is masculine and I find the new trend of sticking it on girls names odd) part and avoid the 'pornstar' sound as its the 'stud' that sounds odd

some suggestions:

Dudlee
Hadlee
Ashlee
Stanlee
Ainslee
Ardlee
Bentlee
Daylee
Bradlee
Kingslee
Charlee
Finlee
Wylee
Harlee
Huntlee
Oaklee
Lyndlee

Studlee is horrific and Tanner sounds like a dog's name. I'd go back to the drawing board, the pp has some nice names, I like Oakley and Bradley, not with the double ee though

I've never understood calling a child by their middle name... if you prefer that name, why is it their middle name and not their first?

Studlee is... not for me but I like Tanner

Sorry I'm not a fan either, but could be a cultural thing as I'm assuming you are in the US? Imagine shouting it in the playground, if it makes you cringe then you should probably avoid it. If not then go ahead, he's your baby.

I have to agree with everyone else, I'm sorry. It definitely sounds like a porn name and I think once the little fella is old enough he'll be constantly embarrassed by it.

Normally I think parents should choose what they like and not worry about others opinions. But there is a line and I think the child's feelings should weigh more. To me that would be like naming a little girl Hottee or Foxee. Kind of silly and inappropriate.

Also, I know you like the "ee" because of your name but well, you're a female, lol. I know a boy named Bailey but it's spelled "Baileigh" because his mother thought it was soooo pretty. He gets made fun of :(

Tanned is nice but Studlee sounds like a joke. I agree it's like naming a girl foxee or something like that
