I thought this was a newborn thing, that was going to last til 8 months tops (said my doctor at the time). But one of my twins still wakes up crying every now and again (and a lot lately) crying, and then promptly farts. By then he is is so worked up it can takes AGES to get him back to sleep. It sounds so silly, but he is obviously in pain and distress. Any idea why this is happening (still)? I thought I was past all the massages, bicycle legs etc of trying to rid him of trapped wind. He burps like a champion by the way, sounds like Barney from The Simpsons. I am actually going to take him to the doctor on Monday as he has also had some diarrhoea (before would always be constipated). Surely he is too young to have IBS? He is otherwise glowing with health, chubby and lovely complexion, gaining lots of weight with a good appetite. I did introduce egg in his diet, but took it away and the diarrhoea still continues days after Any ideas would be welcome. He is not feeling good obviously, and also wakes his brother, and we are having some terrible nights lately :flower:

I'm not sure how long eggs stay in the system but my nursing daughter hurts for about two days after I eat eggs. She's only 10 weeks and i recently tried eggs again and that's how long she had painful gas. Guessing its not dairy or you would have had issues with formula? My daughter has dairy issues too.
Have you tried baby probiotics? They can be pricey but I've heard they can help.

Thank you X I ended up taking him to the emergency doctor as he keeps burping after so many minutes and seems to be in pain. They said gastroenteritis, he is sleeping now poor love X
