***February love bugs***

Sandy-welcome! And congrats! I am getting NIPT done next month

What is NIPT?

I had a blood work done yesterday and found out I'm anemic which hopefully explains why I've been so dizzy and exhausted. I'm feeling like the worst mom in the world since the kids are home for summer but I just want to lay on the couch all day. Seems like tiredness is common for a lot of us right now though!

NIPT is a non-invasive prenatal screening that can determine risk for genetic issues in the babies, and can qlso check genders. It's a blood draw and US done between 11 and 14ish weeks? I'm getting the Panorama done next Friday at 11w2d since that one is the only one that can determine genders of both babies.

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA this last couple of weeks life has been busy. I’ve had my booking appointment, and I’ve since got appointments through for my 12 week scan, my first appointment with the consultant and my 16 weeks midwife appointment. Busy times!

Yay for all the great news and scans in here!! <3

I don't think I have the early testing here. Also not sure about finding out gender... if I can help it.

I did schedule my first appointment for Friday... Praying to see a healthy baby with a nice heartbeat. Symptoms mostly nausea after eating and frequent urination. Already up to pee several times at night.

hey girls! sounds like we're all a pregnant mess :haha: it's the best reason ever for feeling like crap, don't you agree? hope you ladies with more severe symptoms/HEG get well soon <3 <3 <3

so happy to see all the scans and good news. :) espicially our twinnies! hope Beautiful11 is hanging in there and doing well :flower:

has anyone made an official announcement yet? or when do y'all plan to?

we did a secret photoshoot over the weekend to reveal soon. I'd like to wait until 12+ weeks, but this secret is really weighing on DH! We plan to announce in person to our immediate families and friends, call extended families and hand out/mail announcement cards from shutterfly. they have some really cute designs! I can't wait.

My next scan is Friday at 8+4. Fingers crossed our babe is doing great and we'll feel a little more assurance.

also, does anyone plan to stay team yellow? or who wants to know the gender asap? :headspin:

I've already announced baby #5. I've learned from a previous loss, we announced it right after we found out and unfortunately lost the baby but it helped to have love and support from our family and friends vs. If we told no one, we would of grieved alone. Had a scan at 7+2 and everything was ok. I have another in 2 weeks where I'll be almost 12 weeks. Not much nausea so hope everything is still going well. We are also team yellow/green! We have GirlGirlBoyBoy. I'm super excited about waiting!

I had my booking in appt today. They think I’m 9+3 so pretty much what I’d thought. Everything was ok. My BMI is significantly higher this time around though so I’ll have extra scans and will see a consultant a few times too. I had to have some blood drawn and embarrassingly passed out as they were doing it!! Couldn’t believe it, was so embarrassed. Worst of all, I’d told my husband not to bother coming to this appt as booking in appts are boring and not at all exciting so I was feeling extra sad for myself!!

I am feeling nervous though. I haven’t had a scan yet so I’m still not even certain there’s anything really going on in there! We’ll be having the NIPT in a couple of weeks as I’m 37 and worried about the risks associated with my age. Xx

Hello ladies! I've also been mia as I've been pretty tired after work.

I had my first scan last week and was measuring ahead, so she bumped up my due date to Jan 29. But that's not physically possible; the earliest it could be is Jan 31. I don't know if my midwife will want to change it or not. Otherwise all is fine; I also have low blood pressure (90/60) and need to keep up fluids and food.

I'm going to forgo the 12-14 week genetic scan/NIPT testing, so my next ultrasound will be in September. And my next midwife appointment will be late August, so for now I'm just plugging along, hoping the nausea will diminish. It has gotten better, but still flares up pretty often.

I can't imagine going that long without an US! I saw my little beans kicking and wiggling and stretching all around yesterday, it was AMAZING. I'm only 11w and I've had 5 US because of that SCH. I've loved seeing them grow each week, it's crazy how fast they start to look like tiny humans. I didn't really want to do the genetic testing, but I really want to know the genders and since it's covered by insurance I just won't act on any of the results. My BP is generally low (106-110ish/70s), but mine too, for the last week has been 90s/50s. I was worried about my iron level being low since I have a history of iron deficiency but she said unless I become symptomatic, everything should be fine.

Welcome to Sandy & Lunarose

New mrs - that sounds scary! I black out during blood tests if they have to go in my hand, I hope you're feeling better now :hugs:

treeroot - yay for first scan!

I had a scan this morning after taking a foot to the stomachs at work last night thankfully all is well :cloud9:

Oh no, but how exciting you got a sneek peek! Glad everything is ok!

My scan date came through today for 5th August. So exciting! It's all feeling more real now. I'm glad it's just a couple more weeks until I'm in the 'safe zone' because people are already guessing I'm pregnant, but I have no idea how! I'm so confused! I had a miscarriage last year, so I don't feel comfortable telling people I'm pregnant until I see everything is ok on the 12 week scan. I've got everything crossed but all seems to be going well at the moment! <3

Ya Desire2Mom, I don't have any concerns so I only need a few scans. But before I know it there will be kicking and I won't need the ultrasound to see the little one move lol.

Glad everything's ok Wriggley!

Wriggley - Lovely scan photo, glad to hear all is well :)

How did you/are you going to announce your pregnancy to your friends and family?

I'm obsessed with watching pregnancy announcement videos on YouTube at the moment!

Ladies, I caved and bought an at home Fetal Doppler on Amazon. It came today and after watching a few YouTube videos for tips and tricks :haha: I was able to find baby’s heartbeat <3 this was actually the first fine DH and I got to hear it, as we just saw it on our ultrasounds. It was pretty special. I think having this option in between doctors appointments if I get nervous will save my sanity!

Hi guys. Does anyone know anything about Brixton Hicks?? I got them with both my other pregnancies, from about 30 weeks with my first and about 24 weeks with my second but I swear I’m feeling something very similar already with this one. I keep feeling a really tight sensation around my lower abdomen, like really low down where my pubic bone is. Sometimes it coincides with needing a wee but not always. Should i be worried???

 Hi all. I have tried to log on a couple times in the last few weeks but, honestly, this pregnancy sucks. I had very little MS or other early pregnancy symptoms with DD, but this time my MS and exhaustion are off the charts. I’m only just finally able to function without excessive nausea but I am definitely exhausted. And, I’m huge. Seriously, I’m as big right now at 12 weeks as I was with DD at 22 weeks! It’s insane. I’m terrified as to how huge I’ll be at the end! :haha:

Right now I feel like a bad mom because I’m utilizing the YouTube app on the Xbox to play “Dave and Ava” and “Little Baby Bum” nursery rhymes. She loves htem, and it gives me about 30-40 minutes where I can rest and lay down without having to chase her. I’m not a fan of over utilizing the tv, but pregnancy is making this so hard!

Thank God I’m on summer break for a few more weeks. I can’t imagine trying to teach feeling like this. :nope:

On the positive side – I had my first scan a week or so ago. Baby is looking good, confirmed there is only one (thank goodness! As big as I am I was starting to worry :haha: ) and HB and all looks well. I have my referral to do my anatomy scan early September, but when I tried to make the appointment they weren’t booking that far out so I’ll have to call back in another week or so and try again.

Wriggley – oh that’s so scary! But glad all is well!! I haven’t been actively reading, so I might have missed it, what do you do for work?

LunaRose – that’s so exciting that your scan is coming up! Are you showing really early? Or are there other reasons that people are guessing? Coworkers were guessing I was pregnant fairly early because I was so sick, and I suddenly stopped drinking :haha: And now, people are guessing I am pregnant because I’m just showing so early!

With announcements to the family I just told them. My mom and sister I told right away, but with the rest of the family I had a friend make my DD a shirt that said “This Jedi Princess is being promoted to Big Sister” and I shared pictures of it with the family.

Tbfromlv – Yay! I love finding baby’s HB on my home doppler. I bought one with DD1 because I had 2 previous chemicals/early MC’s and I was so anxious. It really helped alleviate the anxiety. This time around I don’t use it as often but about 1-2x a week I check for HB just to keep me sane.

New Mrs W – I don’t know much about Braxton Hicks at this early stage. It feels too soon. Is it painful at all? Do you feel a lot of pressure? If yes to either of those I would call Dr and ask. It’s always better to be safe, I think.

I'm so sorry, I'm too tired to make responses. But I did read everything.
Take care everyone. I'm in need of a good nights sleep
