I have just booked my private NIPT for Sunday morning and now I feel sick with worry. I’ve managed to keep calm throughout this pregnancy so far but now the realisation that I’m 37 and really quite overweight and that this can all have a significant impact on this baby has hit me. I’m very worried. The bloods will likely be received by the lab on Wednesday and then it will be 5 working days from then that I receive the results. So about two weeks from now: I’m very nervous.

Hi guys. Does anyone know anything about Brixton Hicks?? I got them with both my other pregnancies, from about 30 weeks with my first and about 24 weeks with my second but I swear I’m feeling something very similar already with this one. I keep feeling a really tight sensation around my lower abdomen, like really low down where my pubic bone is. Sometimes it coincides with needing a wee but not always. Should i be worried???

I get this ALL the time lately. I thought it could be dehydration or overdoing it while I was moving, but it's just growing and stretching with some round ligament pain i there. Nothing to be worried about unless they very painful or you have bleeding with them. How far are you now?

I had wondered if it might be round ligament pain. It sometimes happens after a cough or sneeze so would definitely be consistent with that. I can’t say it’s particularly painful, just a little uncomfortable. I’ll be 11 weeks tomorrow xx

LunaRose – that’s so exciting that your scan is coming up! Are you showing really early? Or are there other reasons that people are guessing? Coworkers were guessing I was pregnant fairly early because I was so sick, and I suddenly stopped drinking And now, people are guessing I am pregnant because I’m just showing so early!

With announcements to the family I just told them. My mom and sister I told right away, but with the rest of the family I had a friend make my DD a shirt that said “This Jedi Princess is being promoted to Big Sister” and I shared pictures of it with the family.

I honestly have no idea why people are guessing! I'm not showing yet, I haven't had any sickness and I haven't mentioned any symptoms to anyone! It's a mystery!

I love your announcement, that's so cute! We were thinking of putting my son in a t-shirt too. My family have no idea I'm pregnant, they think we aren't having any more children! I can't wait to see their faces!

I'm experiencing the same. Pretty sure it's ligaments and everything stretching out. It's definitely that sort of pain, I'm not worried about it. I'm 11 weeks tomorrow too!

I am finally feeling good again! Whew those first 12 weeks were killer! I actually managed to get some exercise in the last week and I started my new workout program yesterday that involves weights and cardio (I was doing both pre-pregnancy so I've got doctor's clearance). Man it feels good to be active again!


New Mrs W - Try to breathe and if you are up for it try repeating some positive mantras. I know it's terrifying, I'll keep you in my thoughts and sending positive baby vibes your way. Two week wait sounds so long. Keep breathing though! Have you had an early US yet?



Wriggley - Ooh goodness, being a gymnastics coach sounds exhausting while pregnant! Good luck with that! I had my dating scan a week and a half ago, but I'm pretty far along since I'm a Jan31/Feb1 due date. Baby was measuring right on par for LMP and everything else looked good. Took so much anxiety off to hear that!


LunaRose - let us know what you decide to do for announcement! It will be exciting to share with your family when they aren't expecting it! In my case I don't think they were expecting me to get pregnant so quickly since we have an 18 month old, but at least close family (mom/sister) knew that we were going to start trying again because I'm 33 and don't want to wait much longer, so it wasn't much of a surprise (except for the part that we got pregnant on the first month trying this time, versus taking 14 months with #1, so they weren't expecting that - and neither were we )

hi ladies i am 10 weeks today. my dating scan is scheduled for next week thur but i have to reschdule bc im scheduled to work later than i thought boo. ill be calling today to reschedule im hoping maybe there has been a cancelation i am ready to see my bean!
yesterday was a milestone day for me!! i had a previous mc at 9.6 weeks on a full moon. unbelievable yesterday was also a full moom and i was 9.6 but happy to say im still pregnant! =)

Haven't been posting on here much. My first scan will be next Tuesday. It'll be my dating scan as well, so we'll see if I get a February due date like I suspected. I told DH I'm sure this one will be born the end of February. I'd love for a February baby as DH's birthday is in February. I think it would be a cute little bond for them.

I've also been getting round ligament pain. Usually when I get up to fast/twist or pull too much. Sometimes it'll hurt at night too.

So I'm 13 weeks now and have been throwing up this week. Worst was today. Not having much fun with that.

Hello! Had our NIPT scan this morning and blood tests. Scan looked good, nasal bone was present and clear and nuchal fold was normal. No red flags for anything. I should have the blood results back within 10 days but the lady scanning was confident that everything was as it should be. Heart rate of 159. Here’s my pic xx

Yay! I had my NIPT last friday and I've been glued to my phone waiting for both phone calls. I'm dying waiting for the gender results.

I had my first ultrasound on Friday... Went perfect. Measurements right on and nice strong heartbeat. (9+5 today.)

I am due Feb 28, but having scheduled Csection with Tubal on Feb 21. Excited about family complete!

leinz- congrats on strong heartbeat. awesome! i cant wait to hear mine next tues! its still a week away. i was wondering if this will be your 5th csection? if so i was wondering if you can share ur experiences. i will be having my 3rd csection. im a little worried but my doctor is not concerned at all.

On the plus side, I'm 13w0d and saw my babies today and they were moving all around. Baby A has even discovered their hand. I can't wait to hold them in my arms.

I got my results! It took 12 consecutive days for both mine. Both babies are healthy and we're having a boy and girl!!
