***February love bugs***

The times my sickness has been vague I usually lost that pregnancy. So bring it on I say!

I wasn't worried with my first; but for whatever reason I'm rather anxious with this one...I keep thinking my mild symptoms are a bad sign :(

Yeah I am always anxious at this stage! Some women just don't jump into full on pregnancy symptoms straight away or even at all. I do feel nausea throughout the daytime, even as I write this but the moment I feel normal I worry if all is well. I prefer it when symptoms are more regular and predictable. I have been so so tired and having tmi loose poo every day so far and my tummy feels like it's a washing machine after. No sore boobs at all but not either with my last pregnancy. I think I read that was quite normal with subsequent pregnancies. I breastfed too so they gave toughened up somewhat. Hope your anxiety reduces over time lovely. Not long for scans etc etc

I'm having 0 symptoms apart from the waking up in the night and being bloated, if I hadn't taken tests I wouldn't think I was pregnant at all. I know it can be hard though, the stress in the early weeks is high. We're all here if anyone needs to vent though or needs reassuring.

So it turns out that you can’t sleep off morning sickness :haha:

I just dry heaved at cleaning the toilet after my son had been to #2 that's a development! I will go with my ms is starting mildy. Make me feel better Anyway!

So it turns out that you can’t sleep off morning sickness :haha:

I remember napping every afternoon during first tri when I was pregnant second time round and it just made me feel so much worse that it wasn’t worth it x

I don't actually want to get the nausea, I really hated feeling awful all the time with my first. I had gotten a suggestion that my prenatal vitamins may have been contributing to it. This time around I'm just taking folic acid so far, not sure if that's made a difference.

Quick question: what folic acid is everyone taking? I’ve got Tesco own brand stuff which is 400mg but only cost me around £1 for 90. I seem to remember taking some supplement first time round that cost me £10 for 30. I know it contained more than just the folic acid and was something like a Pregnacare or something so I know sometimes you’re paying for the brand but I’m now having a quiet panic at the fact that what I’m taking might not be enough!!!! Also, only started taking them on Thursday when I got my BFP and have just read that it might not be enough if I’ve stated taking them once in already pregnant. I took them for three months before TTC first time round but second time started once I’d gotten my BFP and I’m sure my GO said that was fine but it’s nearlt six years ago now and I’m worried I’m misremembering!!!! Argh!!! Anxiety starting already

It's recommended to start folic acid at least 3 months before getting pregnant because of the potential benefits. However, not taking folic acid does not mean your baby is destined to get a neural tube defect. The reason folic acid is pushed so much is because of the fantastic research that has shown a clear cause and effect in the helpful effects of folic acid in reducing spina bifida. (It's really hard in health sciences to get research to show definitive conclusions like that!)

400mcg is the recommended daily dose of folic acid during pregnancy (.4mg)

I bought a generic brand awhile ago (Life) that is 400, and I just bought a new bottle since I'm almost out. It happens to be a name brand (Jamieson) and I honestly didn't even look at the concentration until right now but it's 1,000 mcg - which is more then necessary but not a problem as long as I'm not lacking in B12.

I think you're fine New Mrs W :flower:

I was taking the pregnacare pre-conception for the 5 months we were trying and then once I got the bfp I switched to the pregnancy pregnacare ( and I’ll switch to the breastfeeding ones after delivery) I did this with my last.

I take my tablets before bed to help reduce feeling sick after taking them

I take the seven seas mini pills with the recommended dose of folic acid because I’m a baby when it comes to taking tablets :haha:

I'm taking pregnancare max, all prenantal vits have folic acid so I'm not taking any extra. Prenatals can make nausea worse, it's the iron which does it, it's very easy to become anemic in pregnancy though so if your numbers come up low and they make you feel worse it's worth trying something like spatone as that kind of iron has less side effects.

How is everyone feeling today?

Morning sickness has finally snuck up on me. Not feeling too great this morning or yesterday morning. But hopefully that's a good sign right?

Also got a super surprise yesterday when my friend told me she's pregnant...we're two weeks apart. But she has complications from a previous miscarriage so is being cautiously optimistic. I really hope all goes well for both of us

Good luck to you and your friend Treeroot!

I’m taking Asda’s own pregnancy vitamins comes with a pink pill and an yellowy liquid pill look the exact same as the pregnancare ones. I only started taking these day I found out I was pregnant.

Nausea has kicked in full force for me even waking me in the night so I invested in seabands today and there working already hallelujah! Only thing that worked in my last pregnancy too. My mood swings are very up and down I went to see my GP today to be referred to the perinatal team already as I suffered an awful pregnancy/labour/postpartum depression last time so just want to be one step ahead. My main symptom is exhaustion like it’s not even just sleepy it’s like wow I feel like I’m gonna pass out walking lol. We have our 7 week scan on Saturday so that can’t come quick enough! Be interested to see if there’s one or two in there as my last pregnancy was a twin pregnancy and my hubby is a twin with identical twin brothers too eeeek!

I’m really struggling with sickness at the moment it’s constant all day and tomorrow is my long day at work and I’m dreading it. I can’t seem to stomach any food either

Oh the joys of first tri! I hope the nausea stays under control and manageable for everyone.

My mood has improved recently, not sure why but I'm going with it! Good on you to stay on top of things Beautiful11. I'm going to try and be a bit more social as I think that will help; just signed up for a mom and baby/toddler hiking group so I'm going to try and do that once a week.
I always feel guilty not getting stuff done around the property, but truthfully I rarely get much done while I'm here because my toddler isn't particularly helpful!

(Can I go on the first page pretty please? crazy me thinks it'll feel more real down in writing  )

treeroot - I hope both of your pregnancies go smoothly :)

Beautiful11 - hopefully you'll be referred to the perinatal team quickly :hugs: twins would exciting in a scary way! they only effect you on the female side though if I remember correctly, wow two sets of twins! at least they knew what to expect :p

nausea is starting to creep in, I'm getting it first thing in the morning so far and then just before bedtime, being hungry or tired seems to make it worse so far.

Sorry vanilla I thought I was up to date what’s your edd again?

Hello ladies! I am cautiously expecting number 1. I completed an IVF cycle where we transferred two embabies and had my first confirmed beta today. Right now my EDD is February 19 but if I end up with twins, that will be changing!
