Can I join ladies- just got my bfp today, due roughly around 16-22 February

I’m 36 and already have 13 year old twins and 6 year old. Absolutely mad for starting again, but we lost a happy accident last year that really showed the seed for a fourth n final. Started trying in January- but this month we got “ serious” about it and- eu voila!

Looking forward ( and dreading in some ways) the next 9 months 🤣

As I have two boys and hubby has two girls so either way for us it didn’t matter, but people have mentioned bonding with bump is easier for hubby and other children knowing the gender, and lots of preparation getting the kids involved and giving hubby food for thought on names etc and The whole gender reveal sounds tooooo tempting! So I think we will be finding out at 16 weeks, I have a reassurance scan booked for the 16th of June have any of you ladies got any booked in? xxx

Yeah I think we will probably find out for reasons you have mentioned above! I have scan next week on the 14th and will continue to have one every 2 weeks until 12 weeks all being well!

We have 2 boys and one girl and since the youngest are both under 2 we have plenty of baby clothes in both genders, I really wanted to experience staying on team yellow for our very last baby.

@wriggly I remember you from my other two pregnancies. My eldest is 8 on sept and my youngest has just turned 5! X

I don't have a scan booked, I think they'll do that at my first prenatal which will be in four weeks. Have blood work I can go get done as well. So I'm all set with my doctor, but if there's room with the midwives I'll probably get transferred over to them.
My nausea and tiredness have been pretty mild, but still present. I'm really tired today and had trouble keeping my eyes open on the drive home.
 
So...downside to telling my family early.

So yesterday my Mom told my best friend's mother, who then told my best friend.

I had been thinking rather frequently about how and when I was going to tell my friend and I was really looking forward to it. She's also pregnant (and that has a backstory too).

Anyway, my friend texted me and then I proceeded to call and cry and "yell" at my mom about it. She said it came out because she has trouble lying and they were talking about maternity clothes.

I'm trying to get over it but I'm still just so sad and disappointed. I know my mom is very conscientious so I told her not to beat herself up about it but I wanted to let her know how upset it made me. Ugh, I still can't believe it happened and I hate being so upset about something that won't matter in the long run. But it was my news to share, and this was a special circumstance as well and it was taken away from me.

Treeroot - I would be very upset too, focus on the positives though so that it doesn't get you down - you've still got the scans to come and gender reveal if you choose to :hugs:
 
Ya we're probably not going to find out the sex; we didn't with the first. Team yellow all the way.
Personally I don't like how gender-ized everything is so I try to stay away from that.

I think I just need some time to get over that sting, or crushing feeling when thinking about my mom's error. It'll pass, it's just raw right now and I can be pretty sensitive :flower:
 
Originally I was not wanting to know the gender until birth and I tried to convince DH but I lost the battle. Especially if it's twins because he wants matching outfits lol. I'm okay with it though. I'm very impatient and would have caved early anyway.

Spoke to soon about nausea it’s arrived for the morning today!

Can anyone confirm when exactly babies heart starts beating? I keep seeing conflicting answers
 
Mine is the same day, I'll be 7w1d. I wanted to wait until 7 weeks because I know 5 is too early and 6 is iffy on hearing the heartbeat.
 
Well I’ve had some very scant, brown spotting today. I have had this in both my other pregnancies at around the same stage so I’m not overly worried. That said, I haven’t really gotten my head around being pregnant again just yet. My other two were very much planned pregnancies where as this has been a bit of a “Let’s see what happens” sort of thing. We hadn’t been BDing more often than normal (couple of times a month) so I’m kind of surprised to have had a BFP already anyway. Just going to have to wait and see what happens.

Wriggled first time round I had an early scan at 6+3 ad there was a nice strong heartbeat already xx

I believe it's as early as 18-22dpo so around 5 weeks it starts to beat but it's unlikely to be able to see this on ultrasound at this stage. When I have had viable pregnancy I saw heart beat as early as 5 weeks and 5 days and at other times when scanned at 6 weeks and few days xx
 
I think I need to fill my schedule with lots of activities this month, because I'm getting that tww feeling waiting for that heartbeat confirmation, but it's four weeks away :(. I don't remember being so impatient with my first at all. Ha, but now that I think about it I was really busy so maybe that's why!
 
How are people getting these scans so early? Are you all going privately for them? Xx
 
Mine is IVF so I'll get one at 7w and another around 9-10w before graduating and moving onto an OB.
 
Mine are through the epu who I have been under for my miscarriages and infertility issues in the past! They have been amazing every time I have been pregnant and usually just email the head nurse and she sorts my meds out and scan times etc. 1 week today and I get my scan but I am started to feel nervous tbh. Symptoms are very off and on and more off today apart from the bloating and back pain. I wish I had more stronger symptoms to go by but I think I was the same with all of my pregnancies up until 6-7 weeks. I hate the anxiety of not knowing what's going on in there!
