Im deciding what routine to go with for overnight and i have a question..

If i woke him for a feed every night (he doesnt dream feed), how will i know when he no longer needs it?

I don't think there is a way to know when he know longer needs it unless you leave him to wake up himself. I use to wake my LO up for a feed everynight one night i decieded to leave it and thats when i realised she no longer needed her night feed.

I agree, it'd be hard to know one way or the other. Even with Hannah's dream fed we weren't sure if it was right to stop or not, we just did.

With Jasmines dream feed she eventually just wasnt drinking it... She decreased the amount herself until she was barely having an oz.

Yeah I wouldn't wake him up otherwise you'll reinforce night feeding as a habit. I can't remember if you said you were still using the dummy or not but if you are, try giving the dummy instead of a bottle if he wakes...

Last night ended up being a nightmare anyways so back to the old routine

I wouldnt wake him... just let him sleep though. Encourage him to sleep longer and he'll probably eat more during the day to compensate

I never woke Jac during the night...i let him wake up when he wanted it.
At approx 6-7 weeks old he was only waking once so i stopped giving the bottle automatically and tried to soothe him back to sleep.
This is when i realied he wasnt waking for the bottle only out of habit. He then started sleeping longer and longer and now goes approx 11 hrs.

xx
