After almost 3 years of TTC, I had my first HSG this morning and my doctor just called with results. While my left tube is fine and flowed through... my right tube is blocked. I just feel so down and I'm worried about what's next... can this even happen? Should I just give up?

Ugh.

Sorry for the downer post.

Sorry accidentally didn't finish that post :dohh:

I was going to say so sorry for what you are going through :hugs:
It sucks but it definitely doesn't mean it can't happen as there are lots of ladies that get pregnant with only 1 working tube

All the best xx

Thanks Sparkle! :hugs:

Feeling better about it. I guess the results got me more "down" than I ever thought they would. We'll be trying Clomid next cycle so keeping my fingers crossed! :)

I'm sorry to hear this Stellagirl, big :hugs:!! It is still possible- don't give up xxx

I can say this, you definitely can get pregnant with just one tube, it just takes a little fancy work to do it! My HSG was similar to yours, they "didnt see the dye spill out" from my right tube, so the assumption is that it is blocked somehow, but my lefty is just fine. My OB/GYN was talking like the only option we had would be straight into IVF, but the specialist she referred me to wanted to go lower tech first. We did a round of IUI (spouse has swimmer issues) and it was a negative, so i asked if we could do the next one with Clomid instead of waiting on the third try, and my Dr agreed. The benefit to taking the Clomid is that we did an ultrasound on CD 13, which was able to tell us that the L follicle was 22mm and would be the one released, we did the IUI two days later after my trigger shot, and currently I'm getting lines that seem to be getting darker, so for now, im cautiously saying that we have our BFP finally. It is hard news to take when you hear blockage and assisted reproduction, but definitely, there are ways around that pesky blockage! Good luck to you, and I can try to answer if you have other questions :hugs:

Thanks Melly Belly! :) That definitely cheers me up and makes me feel more positive about the future of our TTC journey. At least there are options, right?

Congrats on your BFP!!! So exciting! :)

You are most welcome, and thank you also! There are always options, and just because one Dr. doesnt think there isnt doesnt mean there isnt a second opinion that might make it work...we are excited, and i am in total shock still that we managed to catch it on the second try, though i think the only reason we didnt on the first is that probably the right side's turn was then...i've had two hcg draws, and our first scan is on 8/26..so yeah there is always hope out there! lots of :dust: for you! :flower:
