Felling let down by +OPK

Am CD20 today. Am on 2nd cycle of Clomid. Took100MG this month.

Been doing OPK's since CD 12 ever other day. Yesterday i did one and got a very faint 2nd line (have NEVER seen a 2nd line on any preg or opk test!!) Got all excited thinking im going to ovulate in the next 48. Just dont another OPK now and theres absolutely no sign of a 2nd line

just feel so dissapointed that i was ovulating and now im not.

Any words of wisdom out there for me?

Not sure why you are doing OPKs every other day to be honest because an LH surge can last less than 12 hours. I've had days when it was negative in the morning, positive in the afternoon/night and negative again the following morning.

Every other day won't tell you anything. You really need to be doing it every day because you could be missing it if only doing it every other day. Like I said, the surge can last less than half a day. You could be missing it by 36 hours...

Thanks for replying though not what i want to hear! Reackon it was day b4 and iv missed it? I didnt have enough OPKs left to do it every day :-S

Get some cheap ones. You can get 100 online for about a fiver on ebay and accessdiagnostics. You might have missed it, might not, depends on other symptoms I guess, but really, every other day is a waste of OPKs really since the surge might happen the day you DON'T test. Like I said, mine can be negative then positive a few hours later. I worked out my surges last about nine hours then they bugger off. If I was testing every other day I wouldn't get a sniff of it.

This mornng i had pain in ovaries like period pain. not sure....hmmm....got 4 opks left before i can get more....

Oh also, the cheapy internet ones didnt show anything only these other ones that i bought off someone they said Instalert on the packet. They showed up faint lines.

A faint line is not a positive, though. You can get faint lines at any time in your cycle because there is always trace amounts of LH in your urine so unfortunately a faint line doesn't really mean a whole lot. The line has to be as dark as the control line. If OPKS don't work for you it's better to go on your body signs. Cramps, EWCM, those things are indicative of ovulation.

I had the Instalert ones when I was on Clomid. Unfortunately for me they showed up positive EVERY DAY, but the OPKs that I got from fertility store on Ebay, they went positive when I was ovulating and were either faint or blank when I wasn't. The ones with the pale green handle, they seem like the best ones. Have had a long, long time to compare brands, so to speak.

still no sign of a 2nd line 2day :'(

found out 2 people i no are pregnant after on ly trying for a matter of months today. feeling so down. it makes me antisocial this lack of pregnancy thing because all i hear when i go out is, people being pregnant or people giving birth just makes me depressed and quiet....which is totally not like me!

not always the same. usually like around 5pm or 6pm. i no between 2-4 is usually best but i can never seem to need the loo between those times.......

I've been a bit like you too. I started to get a light line and then it just completely dissappears. Yesterday morning i had a faint line, last night no line at all and then again this morning I had another faint line. Its doing my head in! I will test again later to see if the lines darker. I've got ov pains too.

Curly Sue is quite right here...I normally test from CD 10 (as this is the earliest I have ovulated) and test once every day until there is a hint of a line. When I can see that faint line I test twice a day. Once around 2pm (do not use FMU) and another around 9pm - 10pm (before bed) I have quite easily missed OV by testing just once a day.... when you get a strong positive (a line that is as near as damn it the same colour as the control line, the same colour or darker) you can ovulate ANYTIME in the next 36 hours. There is no saying when this will be... could be in 3 hours or 13 hours! Even when i get a positive I continue to test to see if the surge is still there and then as soon as it gets lighter I stop. You do need a few OPK's per cycle to get it right i'm afraid. Another website is Fertility Plan... I buy all mine from there... they are on ebay as well and super cheap and you can mix and match OPK's and HPT's if you want to. I have always had good results from ebay cheapies...

The pain in your ovaries sounds like you ovulated. The pain indicates that the follicle is about to erupt/burst and the pressure causes that pain to your ovaries. I always get ovarian pain, I could tell you the exact minute I am ovulating most months!!! If you have missed it this month then still BD... you can still get pregnant a fair few hours AFTER ovulation you know. Good luck!

lol...i just ordered some more opk's.

i was quite naughty to be honest,the dr gave me 3 months at 50mg. i did the 1st month at 50mg and then i combined 2nd and 3rd month so was taking 100mg. i think i ovulated but not sure if i caught it in time.if i didnt do you think it wud be wrong to go back to gp and ask for another month at 100mg? he said if i wasnt pg after 3 cycles he would refer me to gynea...but i dont have a 3rd cycle coz i already took it!!!
