Today is CD1. Stupid ugly AF!

I have PCOS and ovulation is my problem. I dont ovulate on my own and I have to take provera every month to induce my AF :( Last month my progesterone level CD 23 was 7. Kinda dissapointed but im very looking forward to ovulate this month.

I am taking Femara 5mg, my doctor refuses to prescribe me 7.5. He says it makes no difference in a higher dose (im getting a second opinion on that).

Last month I had an HSG done and it came back normal. No obstructions and it all came back perfect.

The first month I took femara I took it 5-9 and I had a positive opk, the digital one. last month I never had a positive opk and it makes sense since my doc said I didnt ovulated if my progesterone was 7 and they were expecting at least 15. I thought it was weird how I had creamy CM all over the place and aparently no ovulation. uh, depressing

Here is my question, Should I take it 3-7 this month or should I try 5-9 since I was sucessfull the first time. (i didnt get a progesterone level test the first month but I did have a + OPK

what do you all think?

It's hard to say. I am on femara, and my dr originally had me on 1 pill (2.5mg) cd 3-7. After the first cycle I didnt ovulate and not much was happening so he bumped me up to take femara on cd 1-5. He has steadily increased how many pills I am taking. I am up 4 pills cd 1-5 now after 5 cycles. I ovulated in March but had early miscarriage. I just started another cycle in June after 6 weeks with no period. Had a scan on june 27 and looks like I ovulated shortly after that. So for me it took testing the dose each month (with scans around CD 13) to find the right amount that makes me ovulate. I am sure its different for everyone though. Goodluck

How many days is your AF? cause if i take the pill 3-7 I will still be on my period. My period is about 7 days

Today is CD3! do I take it today or SUNDAY for 5-9??????
ANY more recomendations!

To be honest, I'm not sure it makes a massive difference when you have PCOS and your hormones are all over the place anyway :)

I would go with following whatever your doctor told you to do (he's the expert!). If he didn't specifically tell you then maybe go with 5-9 again given your history

Good luck x

I have taking femara days 3-7 and days 4-8. I don't think there is much of a difference in which days other than maybe you O later the later you start the meds. I didn't have a mature follicle until two days later when I took it days 4-8.

hi all, I realize this is a late post but just wanted to clarify something- the OP DID ovulate- a progesterone of 7 clearly shows that- drs like to see a progesterone of +15 on a medicated cycle, but really, anything above 0-2 means you've ovulated- the number can vary based on HOW SOON after ovulating the test was done (and it varies based on how many follies you had, and whether or not you have prog. deficiency- here in my explanation I am assuming you do NOT have a deficiency, until told otherwise).

If the dr just does the test on cd21, then he's a turd because he's making the BIG ASSumption that you O'd on cd14! The progesterone test should be done about 7 dpo. Doing it before that will give you a lower number, like the OP. I have a frie-nemy who had a prog. test result of 1.8- she had ovulated 12 or so hours prior. She also got pregnant that round. True story.
