Hi ladies,
This is long, so please bare with me...
My dh and I have been ttc for almost two years. He was seeing a va doctor for the first 8 months or so, then my obgyn requested a SA, and the results were....not great. 97% dead and the remaining 3% had zero motility. So she referred us to a urologist. He requested two additional SA to make sure the results were accurate, and they both produced the same results. He then did an exam, and said dh has varicules (sp) and would need surgery to fix them. So we underwent surgery in August of last year. Dr was beyond confident that we would be pregnant by the end of the year. Well, I'm not. So he ordered another sa, the results were crushing, they were the exact same.
He referred us to a fertility specialist. I'm waiting on the call back to set up an appt. We just got the results last night btw.
What can a fertility specialist do for us? I mean, i know ivf is an option, and icse, and tese (i think thats it, or where they inject one single sperm into my egg) but is that it? I mean, we don't exactly have the few grand to drop on ONE cycle. We have insurance, but yay for us, it doesn't cover the actual ivf, just medication and diagnosis.
I did order fertilaid for dh, and motility boost but pretty sure it wont do much since his swimmers don't swim, and only 3% are alive.
Any advice as to what to expect at our first appt? Is there anything they can do to help his swimmers swim or is our last option really going to be the costly ivf?
