I'm sure you ladies have prob answerd this question loads of times before, but we're gettin referred to a fertility specialist and i wondered what they'll do?

We've been ttc for Year and 4 months now after a mc at 9 weeks, wasnt planned & happend first time we didnt use anything, but nothing since :S
My OH has a good sperm count, but mobility and progression problems, he's been taking selenium with zinc the past 2 months, so were hoping thats gonna help.
Were both young, im 21 and he's 23. Im quite positive i do ovulate, i charted my temp last month and according to FF i ovualted, i had a blood test 2day, so i should find out in a weeks time.
Thanks.

Hi Jem, at your first visit they'll prob just go through your TTC history, ask about cycles etc. They'll probably then refer you for more tests to check that everything is ok. We had our first appointment with FS in August. DH had already had his SA which was fine (GP had referred him for that previously), so FS referred me for a transvaginal ultrasound (where they check for cysts and things inside) - its just like having a smear really so nothing to worry about. I then had a HSG, which people have different experiences of. Again, it starts off like a smear, but they insert a thin tube into your uterus and then inject a small amount of dye into it - they can then view using a xray where this dye goes and whether your tubes are open. My own personal experience of it was completely fine. I barely felt anything at all (a very very slight cramping when they inserted the dye) but some people say it is painful, so I guess it depends. But I'm not trying to worry you as like I said it was fine for me.

Those are the main tests and after this you'd probably go back to FS to discuss results and what happens next. That's what we're waiting for at moment.

Good luck!! Don't worry about appointment with FS - and don't be scared about asking questions. I wish I'd asked more at the first appointment. x

Thanks just the reply i was hopin for :) Im not sure when were gonna get our appointment etc, but hopefully we'll get somewhere now :)
