My little boy's HR has been between 142-150 at all of my appointments so far in the second trimester.

both my daughter and son had a HB around 160. So I definitely think it is a myth.

I read an article that there is only a correlation between heart rate and gender before 9 weeks, where after that the heart rate fluctuates with activity level. Still don't think it is very accurate.
