fFN test/ test to dtermine if u could go into labor within 2 weeks

i was 30.1 weeks yesterday and had some lower pressure contractions ni pain, but went in to get checked out. The first thing they did were the lab test then while they were being processed they did crevix chwck and i was not open. And i have had nothing in me vaginally till the time tests were done. (all those things i read could cause false positives.) i had the fFN testvthat came up positive. They were very suprised cayse they got the contractiins to stop very easily with a pill had to take another one yesterday morning cause they came back. I got the steriod shots tgey decided to give them to me 12 hours apart. Then sent me home with a prescription and said if they dont go away about 2 hours after you take it call dr. Have not needed one yet. But what have been your experience with this test?

History on kids had gd/type 2 duabetes with all

Oldest water was leaking 39 weeks got induced
2nd- water busted at 33 weeks no steriod shots got induced was in nice for 10 days no major support needed.

3rd- labor started on own at 36.7 weeks came home with me
4th- water was low got induced at 35.6 weeks came out 36 weeks came home with me.
5th- dud ammnio to chech lungs at 36 weeks were ready induced next day or so. Born 9.2lbs got stuck was in nicu for 10 days
6th did amnio at 36 weeks not ready repeated 38 weeks c-sec 2 days later came home with me went back a could days later for bili lights went home the next day.

So have one come on hus own so early would that up my chances.

This test is new to me and so are steriod shots..

I had a 27 weeker so with my second pregnancy we used the tests - I had about 4 positive ffn tests from 22 weeks, but i went to 40+2

Positive tests are unreliable, especially without a cervical length scan. Negatives are. (crazy, i know)

Had pressure last night that i couldnt get to go away so i took meds. Then this morning i woke up having contractions that were not as bad as what sent me to hospital but took meds. Since last night i havent needed the meds since being out of hospital. So hopefully she will decide its worth staying in my tummy a little longer. Although i still having tons of pressure. Felling like she wants to shove her way down instead of just dropping down.

I tested positive at 33 weeks, ended up having him at 35 weeks tho. Still early but not as early as they predicated. I also had the steroid shots straight away at 33weeks. They were bloody painful lol

Those tests are not accurate. I've even heard stories of them coming back negative, and the mom delivered within 2 weeks. I don't honestly know why they are used at all because they are not reliable in the slightest!

This is true. They are only used for research where I am, and to me, that makes sense, more work needs to be done on them. They aren't the best.

Well i went to dr today. And he did agree if u get a negetive it is 97% accurate so you still have a chance to go into labor. But with a positive its only 50% chance so not as accurate. He says they do them for at least that 50% chancecand get steriod shots in cause they help the baby so much. I am not as worried now but still taking it easy to be in safe side. I still having pressure bit that is normal speaking this is number 7.

I had the test on Oct 11th as I was 1 cm, came back neg. Then I went into active labor on Oct 14, so was wrong for me.
