My LO has started fighting the bottle, pushing it out, crying for more, then pushing it out again, some feeds have turned into a battle of the wills!

Her first feed of the day she is a little angel with though!

Mine has been doing this since 8 weeks. Nothing we have tried has worked. The only time she doesn't do it, is if she wakes in the night for a feed. I have stopped trying to force the issue - like you say it turns into a battle of wills - and now just wait quietly until she opens her mouth to either yell or smile, then I quickly pop the bottle in. Usually then she'll take another oz or so x

my LO is the same! even now at nearly 6m. Its got easier as he goes 4 hourly now and only has 4 bottles a day so i dont feel like im feeding all the time. It got easier for a month at around month 4 but has gone downhill again:( xx

Is it time to change the teat size maybe?

Done that - the list of things we've tried would fill this page! She's actually taken 3x5oz bottles today with no fussing - I'm just hoping it's something she grows out of! x

She's already on the size 2 3months & up teats, has ben for 3 weeks now!

Ronnie - Freya has now taken 4x5oz bottles today with the minimum of fuss - I've fed her virtually sat up, so I don't know if that's helped, and also we've been using dentinox colic drops which I know can take a few days to work. Any of these help?

The stuff we've tried are: different bottles, different teats, different formulas, cartons instead of powder, winding before a feed, winding during a feed, letting her drink until she refuses anymore then winding, infacol, gripe water, colief, feeding in swing, feeding little and often, letting her go longer between feeds....oh my god the list is endless! So I know how you feel! I'm really hoping today wasn't a fluke and that the combination of Dr Browns bottles, size 2 teats, dentinox and feeding sat up might be helping.......either that or she's just decided to play nice today! x

No, just bad wind - front and bottom ends! We just thought the colic remedies might help the wind. She doesn't cry for hours like babies with colic, she's just a windy soul!

Spoke to HV in baby group who said she could well be teething!

My mum seen today how angry she gets with the bottle and said maybe try faster teat or hungry baby formula. She is already on 3month plus teats! The HV at our last visit 3 wks ago did say she might need hungrier baby soon.

Now I'm not sure what to do first:

teething powder & then try her with bottle or up the teat size or try hungrier baby formula?!

They said this about Freya as well, but it's been going on for a while now so not sure. She's been a lot better the last 2 days thou with both the amount she's taking (5oz+today when I've struggled with 3oz some days!) and the fussing, and come to think of it, she's not dribbling as much, so maybe? I still think some of it is wind with Frey - you can wind her for Britain, she'll burp LOADS, and then half an hour later you'll pick her up and she'll burp in your face!

I'd maybe try the teething powder first - it won't hurt to try it.

She has been a bit better.

Really not sure what it is, some feeds she is ok others she pushes it out, MIL said it could be as simple as wind, so trying to wind her more often.

Yesterday she didn't go to the toilet, but has this a.m but it seemed strained, so maybe she is a bit constipated.

How are you all getting on now, my LO still pushes teat out some feeds & others is ok!

It's hardin bay group when the others feed quietly & she is so frantic!!

Freya is the same - some feeds fine, others bloody awful! Yesterday she guzzled 2x6oz feeds, 1x5oz and 1x4oz, and then had a bloody awful one where she would only take 2oz! I'm trying not to stress about it and just stop when she's refusing and not worry, but it's easier said than done. She's still putting on weight thou x

It is getting very frustrating now with her feeds yesterday & today! Just keeps pushing bottle out, then crying for more, I just don't know what to do!

I've finally bitten the bullet after an awful day where she would only take a grand total of 12oz all day, and changed her milk. She's now on HiPP organic and I'm seeing a real change. She's slowly fussing less and less, and since we've put her on it, has taken between 4-6oz for all her feeds - and that's with a snotty cold! I'm wondering if she'd just decided she didn't like the taste of Aptamil? So far, no sign of the dreaded constipation (the reason I was so reluctant to change her milk) although the HiPP does make her poos smell bloody awful - small price to pay if she's feeding better thou.

Is it worth trying a new milk with your LO? x

I could try changing the milk, but I don't have a problem with the quantity she takes (she usually guzzles the lot or most of it), it's just the way she takes it, pushing bottle out, crying, wanting it back, screaming for more! I am at my wits end some feeds!

Ah, not sure then, sorry.

Feeding Freya sat up against me (instead of cradled in my arm) and in the quiet usually helps as well, as does leaving her to have a little break once she starts fussing, and coming back in 20 mins. Not sure if that'd help your LO? x
