I see a lot of people want to know the gender of their babies, but is there anyone else who wants it to be a suprise? I mean when the time comes along.

i don't think i can wait :D i will want to know the gender ASAP lol so i can go shopping

i always wanted it to be a surprise, but now, i kinda want to know! i just dont know!!.

When I was expecting my daughter, my OH wanted to find out the sex, but I didn't, so we decided not to find out...
When we were in the 20 wk scan, I asked if they could see what the sex was, but not to tell me, I thought if they can see it then its meant to be that I find out...anyway, she had her legs crossed so we never found out until the day she was born.
My lasting memory of meeting my daughter was an Australian Asian surgeon, saying "You have a beautiful baby girl"....I am so glad I never found out and she had her legs crossed!!!!
You have plenty of time to shop for clothes on your maternity leave!!!
I took 2 sets of clothes into hospital with me (pink and blue) then returned the blue once I went shopping etc....

I'm going to find out on the basis that it's going to be a suprise whenever you find out! lol Also I want to think about names and paint the room and buy all the clothes
:)
xx

I think its different with your first Elliana.....whan you have had a child then maybe you have to be more practical....although I aint gonna find out all the same next time, as it was such a great 9 months wait!!!!

Each to their own I suppose!!!

We are not finding out. I had always wanted to wait it out, but once pregnant, was on the fence. I asked my DH to decide, and he wants it to be a surprise. As for decorating, I have decided on painting the room Tiffany Box Blue. That way if it is a girl, then her room is Tiffany Box Blue, and it is a boy, then his room is blue. :)

I'd rather not find out. Not only because I want it to be a surprise, but also because I want to buy things neutral anyways at first, so I can use them for the next baby. I think it'll be better for my finances.

When I was younger, I wanted it to be a surprise but now I really want to know when I get pregnant. I think, for me, I will feel like I can connect more to the baby as a person and will know how to refer to it while I am pregnant.

Found out with #1 and will find out with #2 I am a planner/ My dd had her legs crossed too, we did not find out so I paid to have an ultrasound done to find out/

I didnt want to know with #1 but I think we will ask with #2 when they come along.

We'd definitely want to know! Neither DH or I can keep surprises from each other, we're hopeless, so yes, we will be finding out if/when the time comes.

I would rather not know! I think when you are giving birth thats the only suprise left!

Plus I would rather see the baby to know what to buy incase it doesn't suit.

I like the idea of buying neutral clothes and decor, I love yellows and greens and cream colors. And you're right it probably will save money in the long run since you've got clothes you can put on either a boy or girl.
When I had my son I wasn' going to find out but you cold see it clearly on my 20 week ultrasound, it was right out there lol....I don't know if I will find out next time, we'll see how we feel, but I'm kind of nosy and impatient so I can see myself asking "what is it???" lol :dohh:

lol diva- I am very nosey too!!!
When the baby has its pic taken in the hospital, I took both pink and blue clothes, but they still look gorg in anything!!!
I just really enjoyed my whole birth experience (even though I did have an emergency section)........and want to replicate the excitement with #2 (if I can)...
And you know, the number of people who couldn't believe that I didn't know what i was having....
the conversation went-
"Hi Cat"
"Hi"
"How many weeks are you now?"
"Oh...28 weeks now"
"What you havin?"
"I don't know, gonna be a suprise?"
"Really??? oh right....what names have you got then?"
Etc etc....

Each to there own!!!!

Oh i want to know the sex of my baby asap. However i havent even had my first scan yet so i have a very very long wait till i find out. Its only early days but the suspense is killing me!!

i would like 2 know bt OH doesnt! i'll be buying neutral anyway so i can pass on 2 next baby bt would like to talk 2 my bump and use his/her name as i feel its good for bonding. my sis found out and we've been using his name and talking about him as a person not just a bump!
