First fertility appointment!!

CocoMia you sound like you are at the same stage as me - I am suspected PCOS because I have ridiculously irregular periods. That is my only real symptom though - get a few pimples, am skinny and don't think I have excess hair. I'm getting a IUS once AF comes, just finished provera Wed so playing the waiting game.

I am feeling the same as you - will be glad to get some anwers but am worried what they might be. I kind of always thought I had PCOS so am hoping that is the only thing. Waiting sucks though, I am so impatient!

Hi Matilda85 - I know it's awful waiting isn't it! Even waiting a few days for an appointment I go from excited that we might be getting closer to finding out what the hold up is to ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED that they'll tell me it's something awful :nope:

I'm a terrible one for googling things and worrying myself that it's all over for conceiving so I don't want to ask the receptionist for my blood test results until they've been explained to me by an expert!! (Cue the 2ww)

I'm quite skinny too so when they were saying about the "normal" symptoms I still wasn't very convinced. Because I've been bleeding during intercourse PCOS was the first suggestion as well as being irregular and some of the comments the other ladies on here have said really seem to match what's been happening - especially the not getting a BFP!!

Keep in touch hun, will be good to know how you getting on and what your next step is x

Hi ladies!, Sorry for taking so long to reply.. Af finally came on Saturday! I never thought Id be so happy to see her lol...nlk I dont hae anything planned after taking the Provera, I just pray that I can continue being normal. It disappeared 2 months after my miscarriage,so im not sure what next. My Dic said she wanted to put me on Birth Control to regulate me but im not sure Im going to take the pills...I dont know. Im just going to pray and hope that everything is normal from this point forward! Im prayind hard and I pray that you ladies get sticky beans soon!!

Godblessme - glad AF finally came, I hope that is enough to kick start you back to normal.

CocoMia - how is everything going with you?

nlk - how did everything with the clomid go? You must be in the TWW?

AFM AF arrived yesterday so I am booked in to get my IUS Friday arvo and also need to get bloods at this time for all my hormone levels, then Wed week I'll be getting all my results. Nervous but excited at the same time.

im so pissed. youre right matilda, i should still be in the 2ww...except last night, the witch well and truly arrived. she was due on friday, so a good 4 days early. also, i am now bleeding extremely heavily. as in, i soaked through a super-max tampon, and a maxipad, AND all my clothes....in two hours. thats how bad it was. and now i dont know what i should do...i used to bleed heavily when i was younger, but then it stopped altogether. i tried calling my fertility specialist, but no answer...do i count today as CD1, or yesterday? because if its yesterday, then im starting round 2 of clomid today.

i feel so horrible

Nlk that sucks!!! :growlmad:I hope you are feeling better today you poor thing :hugs: That sounds like an insane amount of bleeding - I wonder what caused it to be so heavy? Did you manage to get a hold of FS and figure out what to do re your next lot of clomid? It is so frustrating when you can't get a hold of them. I reckon if it came overnight, count yesterday as CD1. I'm saying this based on AF coming for me overnight and FS telling me my 3-5 day scan would be where day 1 was the full first day of AF, if that makes sense.

Hope you are feeling better today :)

thanks :)

i feel a bit better today, less bleeding and slightly less pain as well. i got hold of the FS clinic, and she said it just sounds that the clomid could have caused it :saywhat: i signed up to a lot of crappy side effects when i started taking clomid, but i was NEVER told that it would be like this! it was so horrible!

anyways, the FS said that i should count the first full day as CD1. it started at about 6pm the previous day, which was why i was confused about when CD1 was. she looked at my scan from CD12 and said "so, you ovulated CD13..." i was like, what?! i was told it would be 2-3 days until i ovulated, not that day or the following day! no wonder i started bleeding...i thought i was on 10dpo, when actually i was more like 13/14. grrr. so upset, because obv there was NO chance of that cycle working!

at least now i know. and they have asked me to come in for another scan this cycle, but on CD13 this time. that means i should have either just ovulated, or just about to. then i will know EXACTLY where i stand.

sorry for the long update :)

hi ladies, i read some of your posts and like to join you if you don't mind.
i had my first visit 2 weeks ago. and this cycle they monitored it. they arranged 3 days for :sex: (cd13,14,15) but surprisingly i had no o pain:shrug:. i will have progesterone test and u/s on cd 20 tol see what has happened.
did they ask for hsg with your blood work? because they just asked for SGH which looks into just uterus and not tubes.

welcome!

im sorry i cant be much help, here we dont do progesterone tests following ovulation...i literally had a scan, and was then sent on way (informed wrong, but we'll leave that). Im sure there are a few other people that have had a hsg, and may be able to help you a bit more.

just wanted to say hi, and welcome :flower:

Hasti2011 - welcome :) I can't be of much use either, I'm pretty new to all the tests. Getting my first IUS today so they can hopefullyy figure out what is wrong with me and then how to fix it.

Nlk - I'm glad you're feeling better :) Can't believe how intense AF sounded. That is annoying you ovulated so much earlier than thought but at least it must mean the Clomid works really well for you! That is so good about this cycle and scans though, that should mean you'll be able to have a really good chance of catching the eggie and getting you BFP

AFM - I have the day off work today and my scan isn't until this arvo - I can't imagine I'm going to get a lot done this morn. I can't wait to just get some results and get properly started.

nlk- i am so sorry you missed the chance last cycle. hopefully you catch the egg next cycle. for me they start on cd 10 then cd12 and 13 and on cd 13 they said to have :sex: 3 raw days.
however i have inactive pcos that means i had before but not now and my previous Dr. in Dubai wanted to put me on clomid from first cycle but because we moved to canada i didn't continued with her. i wish i had chance to go on clomid and wouldn't wait so long.

Matilda85, hopefully there is noting wrong with you and it will be your turn were soon.
:dust::dust::dust:
to all of you

So I officially have PCOS - no real surprise there since I basically already knew that. IUS showed lots of little cysts and also my lack of AF was enough to confirm it. My hormone levels were suprisingly normal though - only LH was a bit high or low (can't remember) and everything else looks good. Actually a relief, I knew I would have PCOS and am just glad nothing else is wrong :)

OH got his SA results back and passed with flying colours - can't remember the actual results but the FS was ridiculously impressed so am definitely happy about that. He has been stoked since getting them too, he thinks they are super sperm :spermy:

Besides that - I have officially also started Clomid :happydance: I thought I'd have to wait until next month but with my results yesterday he reckons that I should take it from day 5 - 9. Took my first half tablet this morning as FS wants me to start on 25 mg as he reckons that could be enough for me and given how high my egg count test was. So far no side effects :) I then have another scan booked for day 14 since day 12 falls on Saturday to see how it works. FXed that it makes me ovulate. He told us to start :sex: once I finish taking it just in case it makes me ovulate heaps early.

Hi Matilda,

Sorry for being away so long - darn internet was playing up but am back properly now!

Sorry to hear they've confirmed PCOS but good that you can now get on with treatment etc..

I've had a semi diagnosis confirming it from my bloods but they have to look at my scan which has been moved to next week. Grrrr!
It feels like they want to drag things out on purpose; it's hard not to think about it all the time but not much I can do until then.

thankfully I've talked to my Sister in law about it now and turns out she went through the same when she was about my age and going by my gorgeous niece I'm feeling better hehe

How are you and do you know when you're going back to the docs/fs?

xx

Hi CocoMia,

So good to see you back online! That is so annoying about your scan - I wish drs could understand how important it is to us. I hope that when you do get it, it gives you some answers and they can give you something to fix it :)

That is so cool about your sister in law - I love hearing success stories, gives me so much hope. FXed that will be us soon.

AFM I went back to the FS today and got another scan to see how I went with Clomid. I have produced one good sized follice so he was happy. He is super against multiples for some reason, even though I would love twins. Then I got an injection of Ovidrel which is meant to ensure the follicle ruptures  I really don't get what this means, but he said Clomid sometimes doesn't do all it should so the injection will help ensure I ovulate. He reckons it should happen tomorrow so told us to BD every night this week if we could to give us the best chances. Then next Wed I'll get more bloods done to see how it all went. FXed.

Keep me updated as to how your scan goes, FXed for you :)

Hey Hasti - i lived in Dubai for years! Small world! I'm now in Kingston ON!

Had my first appointment on Tuesday. All blood tests done before referal with GP but they messed it up as usual and asked me to do the progesterone test on day 14th of the cycle instead of 21st!
The fertility doctor asked me a few questions, then sent me home to do the progesterone test on the right day and then come back to discuss next steps. I'm hoping they check for endo and it doesn't take long.
