First labor and birth compared to second labor and birth?

It wasn't true for me, my 2nd labour was longer, but it built whereas my 1st was just full on from the start. My 2nd was 2lbs lighter than my 1st, but she was born a week earlier than him and also girls tend to weigh less than boys so that probably had a bearing.
My 3rd was a shorter labour and heavier than my 2nd though.

First baby: 38+5, 8lb1oz, labor was about 20 hours and spontaneous. Baby took over an hour to push out.
Second baby: 38+2, 7lb7oz, labor was about 3 hours and spontaneous. Baby was out in under 2 minutes of pushing.
Both babies were boys.

I was induced with all 3 babies due to pre-eclampsia
1st was just over 6 hours, 6 lb 8 oz
2nd was just over 3 hours, 7 lb 11 oz
3rd was 58mins , 8 lb 10 oz

First labor started with 2 days of regular but painless contractions followed by a 3 hour labor. My second labor started out with one day of irregular but frequent contractions followed by a 3 hour labor. The second baby was lighter than the first by about 6 ounces.

My first labor was spontaneous and 16 hours from start to finish, I heard second babies are a little bigger than the first and labors last half as long. Obviously it's not gonna be true for everyone, but I wanted to see if anyone had an experience like this..I'm hoping it's true for me!

Well now that I've experienced it I can comment :)

My first started with waters breaking at 39+1 day at home... No contractions but went into hospital as I was gbs positive. I was only 2cm and the following day I was induced! After 16 hours of active labour he was born at 39+3 days weighing 3.182kg 7lb something I believe

My second baby who was born 9 days ago... Labour started at 39+6 with a bloody show and a lot of pressure down below in my back and pelvis... Got to the hospital and was 3cm around 4am. Around 8am I was 5cm, waters broken by midwife around 11:40am and he was born at 1:44pm that same day and active labour was 5 hours and a bit. He weighed 3.770kg so definitely bigger baby and a much quicker birth x

My first baby (boy) arrived on his due date. After arriving at hospital barely dilated, I was sent away after a examination/sweep. I went away (to a hotel infact, to stay close to hospital) and an hour later my waters broke. I had meconium in my waters so they did admit me then and sped him up a bit with whatever drips/drugs. It's all a blur how long it took but he was a lot longer than the second baby. He was delivered naturally after a few C-section threats.

Second baby (girl) went 9 days overdue, then I went into labour spontaniously. She was an apparent "text book" birth and it was all done with from first contractions to birth within 5 hours I think. Pushing phase was recorded as something stupid like 5 minutes.

Both were on gas and air. First baby I had stitches for second degree tear, second baby the nurse said there was slight damage but not worth messing about with.

I felt AMAZING after the second birth compared to the first. Practically danced home. Infact I came home and ordered a pizza. It felt like a relief to have her out, my body felt loads better having been a whale and chasing a toddler about. Whereas with the first, it left me in a lot of drawn out recovery pain and being scared to wee etc! lol. best of luck

Forgot to mention weight....not much in it. first 7lb 1oz and second 7lb 11oz but reckon they'd have been incredibly similar if one didnt have an extra week or so inside!

First (induced) 10 days over, 7lb13, 27 hours
Second (spontaneous) 10 days over, 8lb13, 5 hours

With my first born, 2 hours labour from water broken till she was born. She was weight 7lbs1. She was 3 days early and no tears, slightly grazed.
With my 2nd, 1 hour and 20mins, my water broke at the same time she was pushed out, she weight 7lbs5. She was 2 days early and no tears or grazes. 2nd labour was insane and too quickly compare to the first one. I didn't have time to breathe between contractions 🙈

Yup - with my first, I started labour on a Saturday morning AT 10:30 AM, was in labour the whole weekend, and delivered on Monday afternoon at 3:30 pm. I had to be given Pitocin on Monday morning to speed things up.

With my 2nd - I started labour on a Friday night at 9:30 pm, and had the baby Saturday morning at 8:20 am! Less than 12 hours after labour started. Everything happened super fast. As soon as I had my bloody show on the Friday night, my water broke and my contractions came on strong. They picked up in the early morning and were super quick and painful (I had a drug-free birth) - much worse than with my 1st, even though I was on Pitocin then. It was super super intense....whereas my 1st was more long and drawn-out.
