First month ttc #1 and already obsessed!!

Hello, I am 29 and DF is 30. We are ttc #1 and this is our first month trying. Our wedding is next month but we decided to start ttc now just to get a jump start since it may take awhile from what I've read.

I can't believe how crazy I have been about all of this and it's only the first month. I started temping at the beginning of this cycle and I didn't even know what temping was last month, lol!! I can't stop looking things up online and obsessing over every little thing.

How do you ladies handle this?? Help, I feel like a psycho, haha.

I am 10 DPO, I think, (that is what Fertility Friend says) and I tested this morning and got a BFN. Every day is going in slow motion.

Don't worry your not alone, we're on cycle 5 & i'm just as obsessed as i was the first month you just seem to get use to it i guess.

I am only on CD12 and last month was 38 days as was the one before, my lines are getting darker in opks so I am hoping to ov earlier this month!

10dpo is probably too early for but I was the same last month, testing all over the place so dont worry!

I think it is really hard not to obsess. When I want something I want it NOW!! I try to keep some of my obsession from OH but we tell each other everything so it sort of comes out anyway, bit by bit, luckily he just thinks I am funny - I am glad it isn't making him stressed!

I am always on this site. I am at work at the moment (on lunch) but even when I'm not on lunch a thought will pop into my head about something TTC related and I will have to have a sneaky peek! sometimes it is all I think about!

We are starting cycle 2 of TTC and I know exactly what you mean. I have done so much research on the internet. Hard part is deciphering what is fact and what is fiction. But obsessed would be a great word to describe the past month. ~*~ BABY DUST TO YOU ~*~ KT

I am on cycle #2 and I am definitely obsessed too!We just live our lives in two week increments... Then once you O you are completely obsessed with testing and symptom spotting! It is very exciting but very addicting. And I am also on this site so much more than e-mail or facebook now! I don't know what I would do without it

I don't have any real reason to think I ovulated early this cycle, but I'm also symptom spotting already.

That just made me laugh out loud at my desk....sticking fingers up your hoo-ha... hilarious!! I am soooo like that, I have even been known to check in the work loos which I know is wrong but I am obsessed, well and truly!!!

Some people are fertile straight off the pill, so loads of babydust to you!!

So funny, and glad it isnt just me that is obsessed. OH and I discussed TTC and he was just like "yeah, ok, lets just have one tomorrow, what's the big deal" obvs he was being funny, but when I told him I wanted him to be serious, he said "yeah, lets go for it".

So, I am trying not to share every little bit of info I found out, but it isnt hard, I dont want him thinking I am getting totally obsessed or it will drive him crazy. It is good that we all have each other on here to obsess with lol.

Thanks! I don't feel as crazy now that I know I'm not the only one. I think I am probably out for this month anyway since I have had a little brown spotting today and I just feel so anxious like before AF comes. Hopefully I get a BFP soon, I can't imagine how I'll be after months of this!

Joeybrooks - my OH is getting more like that too, he keeps encouraging me to drink my grapefruit juice and sometimes I think he is getting more into it than I give him credit for! But I still try and hold back a little because I don't want him to be daunted by it. I imagine I can be scary when I let myself get too obsessed!!!

I am sooo glad we all have each other! It is good to just chat and not have to explain why you are stressing about things that others would dismiss etc.

RDH - it's not over until the witch shows! Could it not be implantation? Try not to stress, that may make things delay even more if it is the witch. Easier said than done though I know!

Checking for EWCM in public places is wrong, wrong, WRONG. And I myself would never do such a thing! Never ever.

Unless you count at the pub a few nights ago (how's THAT for gross!)... and one time at my friend's flat.

haha i cant stop reading this site either, and we just agreed to "not prevent" HA! this is first cycle after first AF off BCP.. so we'll see I have OPKs but last cycle i had a pos, then the next day a neg, then a pos a couple days later.. i was so confused i know you it could be a couple cycles off BCP until you actually ovulate.. but if your not releasing an egg would you still get a + OPK???

....i feel like a crazy person

Haha welcome to the club! BnB is going to become one of your favorite places! I'm TTC #1 and the one thing I promised myself when hubby & I began this journey was: not test until AF is late! Haha I wonder how long that'll last!

It's totally absurd and hilarious. What would have made me go "ewww" a few months ago now makes me go "Ooooooh!" in excitement. I think we're all the same! When you can chat to friends about your cervix, you know you've gone over the edge. At least we're all in good company.

I HATE OPKs! I took them starting CD 9 or so, and never got a positive. Only started getting faint-to-strong lines (but never a positive) on CD19. I have NO idea what that means. I guess it's good to BD just in case, but I definitely know how you feel-- they're not really all that helpful.

How long was your last cycle? What CD are you on now?

I am on cd 13 now but since cd 5 we have following SMEP (my periods are never very long, only a few days so I figured I should get going early!) My last 2 cycles were 38 days however and I ov'd on cd 26 first month and cd 25 last time, I pretty much know I did as I had pains which were really severe and I was advised by a nurse that that's what they were.

I know I am lucky to have regular cycles straight after coming off bcp (stopped taking it at the end of March) and I am so glad I get the ov pains but the long cycle sends me a bit crazy!

What about you? were you quite regular before bcp? I can't remember as I started it when I was 17 and I am 29 now!!

Wow, we're in the same situation... I have no idea what my normal cycles are like because I've been on BCP since I was 16 (I'm also 29). So I don't know what to expect from my body. This is my first cycle off BCP, took my last pill May 26. I think this is looking like it'll be a long one... the 28 day cycle ticker in my sig is definitely wishful thinking!

You are lucky! At least you know when you O... and that you DO actually O. I haven't gotten any pains yet (some little twinges), and think I probably haven't O'd yet. During your first month of BCP, did you have lots of little symptoms that felt like pregnancy symptoms? I've got tons and have to keep telling myself that they're from going off BCP so I don't get excited.

Ah yay it is nice to see someone else the same as me!!

I keep worrying incase it wasn't O though - silly I know but with just coming off the pill I am wary! It was weird though, woke up in the night with pains so bad OH had to call NHS direct then I had to go to a walk in centre when it opened. I thought it was my appendix but the pain was my left side. The nurse was worried it was an ectopic pregnancy but thank goodness it wasn't.

The pains last month were nearly as severe but not quite, I knew what they were then so I took some painkillers. I never remember pains like that when I was younger though! Bizarre.

This month I will be EWCM checking and using opks like a mad woman because I am curious to know it actually is ov! I don't get "obvious" EWCM so I am a little worried about that.

Preg symptoms - OMG yes, loads last month! I used a load of tests but all BFN obviously! I was nauseous, had tingly boobs, headaches, extreme tiredness, cramps...etc etc it drove me mad!

What have you had? similar? How unfair that the symptoms of preg, AF and bcp withdrawal are so much alike!

Well, it sounds like O! A little scary sounding, though... I'd have been freaked, too! I've got a friend who gets really bad O pain... guess it happens. Maybe your body was so eager to squeeze an egg out after all those dry BCP years it got a little carried away!

I've read in a lot of posts here that the only way to know for sure if you O'd in any one month is to chart your temps. I bought a basal body thermometer and plan to do that next cycle if I don't get my BFP this cycle (looking pretty unlikely!). I started an account at fertility friend so I'll be ready to start charting when the time comes.

It's good to hear that you had lots of symptoms your first month out... it'll help keep me grounded. I get excited every time I feel something unusual. This week it's lots of bloating, sore nips, gentle cramps and funny little twinges, sensitivity to food, tiredness... the lot. I am happier, though. Didn't realize BCP were affecting my mood so much til I got off them. Now I have an excuse for having been a b*tch for the last 13 years, haha.
