DH and I are positive about the girl's name...and almost positive about the boy's name. The problem with the boy's name is which name we use as the first and which for the middle.

We have careers and degrees in science and knew if we had a boy we wanted to name him after someone famous in our field....Darwin was the only name we could agree on (you should have heard some of the doozies he came up with )

So, (if we have a boy) should his name be:

Alexander Darwin Williams
or
Darwin Alexander Williams

To both of us, Darwin Alexander flows alot nicer. We'd still call him Xander, and his first name would be more of a formality. But my family thinks that he'll be made fun of if his first name is Darwin and prefer Alexander Darwin.

What do you think?

I think Darwin is ok as a first name but if you are going to call him Xander, I would just go with Alexander Darwin, jmo. Darwin Alexander could also elicit "Daw" as a nn. Also there is a famous female singer named Dar Williams.

Yeah, I guess if you think in terms of Xander, then Xander Darwin does sound better.

Thanks, ladies!

(I've never heard of Dar Williams! :dohh:)

I'd go for Darwin Alexander personally, although he might get Darwin or even Winnie from other people..
