Ok silly question I know, but I am making my son some of the Fisher Boy Fish Sticks and I really want some!

Are these safe?

Are they like fish fingers?

The only fish you need to avoid completely is shark, marlin and swordfish and you should limit your intake of oily fish and also tuna and salmon due to high mercury content (you can have more tinned than fresh)

Have a read of this. That should help you. I know you in US but its pretty much the same.xx

Yes that helps ALOT! Thank you! All the ones it says are safe to eat are the ones in the fish sticks!

I just read this and thought "MMMMM Fishsticks!" haha. Now I'm craving them!

My midwife said they carry listeria so I'm not allowed them.

Hopefully the ones i ate were ok? I don't eat them often.

Any food can carry listeria. I don't know what these sticks are though. If they are a hot food then no worries, eat away. If they are something you eat cold, then it's like the whole deli meat argument. some people avoid it, some choose to eat it anyway.
Listeria is a risk for anything that comes out of the chiller cabinet (although dairy products are pasteurised to kill the bug and cooking kills it too).
