five year old missing!!

No Kath dont. I only did because someone liked her post on my fb and then I saw all the abuse she was getting. She is only sixteen, so I couldnt not say anything to her and stand up for her family. She is going through the worst thing imaginable as a sister :(

How can people be so heartless :nope:
She will never recover from this! Imagine if she ever has children of her own!
It's not right anyone should go through this. She has a brother too doesn't she.

Awful just awful, children dying in general is horrific but having an illness or an accident you can process... This... I just can't! Can't understand why a 5 year old has to die this way.

News was just on saying they were trying to trace someone that had set up a page? Hopefully it's that one! Xx

It makes me so angry people think they have the right to be so cruel.
As if the family isn't suffering enough.
x

Totally agree Emmy :hugs:

I have no idea Kath how people can be so heartless, no idea at all. She does, ten year old Harley. I dont think I will ever understand, it is such a cruel, unneeded end to a young childs life, and the family's life too because they can never be the same again.

I've just seen this picture on facebook, it's of aberystwyth prom

Its making me even more emotional that so many people have been touched by this case, look how everyone has pulled together in her town, in the country and even on the internet where people like us have been so worried and upset about Aprils disappearance, and we never even met her.
kinda restores my faith in humanity a little, and that has taken a beating with all the high profile child cases is the media recently.

It's truly heartbreaking

I've just had to give my baby a snuggle!! It's really touched my heart and having my own child I wouldn't like to think how her parents feel :(

I just don't get why this has happened to her. Why? She was doing no harm to anyone :( I'll never get why people do this to children or to anyone x

I just had to comment on the page. Her sister has commented again! Poor family!!!!!!!! xx

I agree with this. For every monster theres thousands of good people.

I've just had to give my baby a snuggle!!

I have been doing this since Monday :(

 I cannot believe people are slagging off April's family on FB :( That really is just absolutely sickening. Some people are utter scum.
Hopefully the fact that the majority of the country is giving support will overshadow the idiots, her poor Sister :(

I just cannot believe this is happening. Holly is nearly 5. I can't even bear to think about it, it makes me feel like I can't breathe

The poor family. If April is dead then they deserve to be able to lay their little girl to rest. Absolutely devastated for them. I cannot understand why he did this? (If he did, ykwim! ) Just so sickening :(

Just wanted to say if he has confessed then there will be no trial or if he pleads guilty on Monday. He will just got straight to prison to be sentenced later. Hopefully this is what he will do then the family wont have to be put through a court case. Usually tho these people will plead their innocence just for the notoriety of it all.

And tbh in cases like this what have they got to lose? If found guilty, even if they plead it, most likely will never leave prison again, so it isnt like they think oh I will get a reduced sentence iykwim?

It disgusts me that people are blaming her parents. No one knows what happened, except those involved. People lash out because they are hurting over what has happened to an innocent little girl, but they have no idea what sort of hurt her family are going through, the people who knew and loved her her whole life, not just for 6 days. I wish people would think about how much added hurt they are heaping onto that family.

I've just seen this quote from a book called We need to talk about Kevin.

"have you any notion how fatiguing it is to keep an eye on a small child every single moment of every single day? im tremendously sympathetic with the sort of diligent mother who turns her back for an eye blink ............ Does anyone ever give the woman credit for the twenty-four-hours-minus-three-minutes a day she has watched that child like a hawk? For the months, the years worth of 'dont-put-that-in-your-mouth-sweeties' ............... "

Thinking of April's Mummy, and hoping she remembers all those minutes and hours she watched April like a hawk.

I totally agree with you.

I keep seeing posts where people are blaming the parents, Coral had gone inside to make food after coming back from a brilliant parent/teachers evening and let April play out for a short while. Even if she had taken April in, then it wouldn't surprise me if it had been a different child that had been taken, and then those parents would be being blamed.

I've read that book. It's good.
Couldn't believe it when I got my news update. I'm glad he's been charged but please please can he tell where she is :(

is it a case of after a certain amount of time its automatically classed as a murder or do they have evidence that shes no long with us ?? sorry if thats already been talked about

Wriggley, there has to be evidence. Maddie McCann isnt counted as murdered and that will be five years and six months come November.

:hugs:

Agreed. I know the area a bit (used to live nearby), there are ALWAYS children playing out, especially after the summer holidays when I guess they have got used to being allowed out a bit later. There are also usually adults around keeping an eye on things/talking. I'm not saying its right or wrong to have young children playing out, but when everyone else is doing it I can imagine it would seem safe. Especially if that's all the parents have known- they played out until it got dark, so did their parents, and they want their children to have the same freedom as them. No one thinks this will happen to them, especially when they turn their backs for just a few minutes. April's mother will likely torture herself over it for the rest of her life, I bet she feels a lot more guilt than April's kidnapper whereas he was the one who caused this.

That's lovely and so true, as I said her parents were not negligent in letting their little girl play with her friends in the front of her house. They did nothing wrong. Yes it might have been late by some peoples standards but she thought she was safe in her little neighbourhood and it wasnt as if it was 11pm or anything!

Who can honestly say you watch your child 24/7 .. It's not like she was out there and her mum didn't notice for 2 hours .. She found out within 10 minutes.

Her parents are going to have so many what ifs..
What If they didnt go to parents evening
What If they hadn't let April play out later than usual.
Why didnt they look out the window 5 minutes before..etc etc

They will be torturing themselves for a very very long time! :nope:
