I decided to change the name of my baby's father in my phone from a nickname I've used for him for the past 10 years to "L's father"...it seems to be helping so far, separating my bittersweet feelings toward him from who he will be to me now...now when I see a text from him I have a different immediate reaction, instead of being excited like I used to be (ugh, I know), my brain kind of snaps him into a different category...trying to use as many little tricks as I can to move on from him, I'd give anything to be over it already!

Give yourself time. If it's any consolation, when LO is here, you won't have time, energy and, possibly, inclination to give FOB much thought. You'll be too focused on LO. Until then though, congratulate yourself on doing really well.

That's a much nicer name than I have mine under in my phone, lol. Although I just changed numbers and he won't be getting the new one..for now at least, so I won't have to worry about it.

I have waited for this for a loooonnnnngggg time now. You all keep saying this and it's been so long coming and so stressful, it doesn't feel like it will ever happen. Now I'm trying to decide if I will even call him with the announcement of baby's birth, or let him come to the hospital and meet the baby or let him at the house to meet baby when the time comes.

hahaha! I've gone through those names for him also, trying to just cut those feelings, bad or good! And I keep hearing how I won't have time to think about it soon, too, here's to hoping that is true!!! I just don't think I'll EVER not be bitter about this...but maybe this precious baby will at least be one good reason the jerk was in my life.

Saying that your mind will be taking off of the losers is really, really cliqued, I know. But it is incredible how true it is! Until then, screw them.

And I wouldn't bother contacting FOBs re birth or visits. Let the fathers get in contact with you.
