I am barely 1cm dilated today at 40weeks+5.. I had the option of an elective C-section on Tuesday or going in on Sunday night to try cervix ripening with the foley bulb/balloon whatever you call it. If that works then I will be induced on Monday...

Has anyone had the balloon ?? Any experiences or success?

I struggled with the decision because I don't want anything to go wrong with the baby and wish that I had chosen to do the csection but hopefully I made the right choice =( so nervous!! just want this baby here now

I had the foley bulb induction with DD. I'm not going to sugar coat it for you, the insertion is pretty terrible. However after that, it worked pretty well for me. I wasn't dilated at all and they put it in around 11am I think. By 5 I was dilated 6 centimeters and my water broke on it's own. I did end up having to get a c section, but that was more because they pressured me into getting pitocin and my dd didn't respond well to that. I was also only 38 weeks (induced for preeclampsia) so my body most likely wasn't ready for labor. I think if I had been further along or they let me go a little longer without the stupid pitocin, it would have been a success. Hope this was helpful and good luck with your birth!
