How often did you check for ovulation when you got your positive? i've never got a positive and wondered if i'm doing something wrong. Just started temping last month so i think last months chart was innaccurate so i didn't wanna just go by FF ovulation prediction as my temps are all over anyway.

Cant help, but im interested in this answer too... im using them for the forst time this month.

Also would like to know how strict people were about not drinking for 2 hours before... and what time of day worked for them?

I am highly irregular (cycles anywhere from 23 to 35 day) so started doing the tests twice daily from around four days after my period ended.

Just used cheapies. Can get about 100 for next to nothing so using two a day is not so bad. I got a positive the day before yesterday. Had been light in the morning, then I got crazy EWCM so tested that night and it was positive.

not sure if I understood your question but I'll tell you what I've been doing if that helps at all. I follow the date guides on the opk test pack and start seeing on the sticks from the day it suggests and I do mine first thing in the morning, that way I havnt got to worry about have I drunk too much before etc and then I keep my sticks just incase until I get the darkest line.thatway I can compare them. I know if its a positive cos the test line is always as dark as the control line or darker. If I test again there's either no line or a very faint one so I know the previous day was a winner.most months thats worked for me.I don't monitor ovulation any other way, wouldn't have a clue how to do it.hope that helps. I use clear blue opk tests but they are pricey, prob why I have no money!

hmm, maybe id be better getting a clearblue opk then. The cheapies i have say def do not use fmu... and that you have to collect urine and leave it for half hour before testing.

i used clearblue and got a positive first thing in the morning, i just counted back from my last cycle 14 days and tested as few days early

thats news to me but I've never used the cheappies.lots of the girls on here have tho and said they are fine but if they are not working for u can't b bad idea to try sumthing new??I've been told about these saliva ovulation tests too,u can buy them online and one kit lasts 2 yrs.u just put a drop of saliva on this little pocket size lens and look at the pattern it makes.u can do it any time of day every day and certain patttern means u are ovulating.if I don't get pregnant this month (as period is 10 days late at mo so hoping I'll get a positive)then I'm def buying one of these saliva tests.they only cost 20 pound and u can use it over and over.could be an idea for us if clear blues get too pricey x

I was using cheap ovulation tests for about a month and I never got a positive. I used them every day as I have irregular periods. I conceived that same month. My suggestion would be to try more reliable tests...

whatever i use will need to be first thing cos i can't be messing about at work

I actually can't remember the last time I had a relaxing wee in the morning!!!I said to my du I either seem to be trying to wee in a cup or squatting over an opk test.the things we do when trying to conceive eh??

tell me about it... so the clearblue ones work with fmu?

I've not used these before, my cycle is pretty regular (27 days) and I usually get cramps on C13 &14 so i think thats when i ovulate. However after 8 months of ttc without science, if this month isn't successful I'm going to try the predictor kits. I priced them today, and it was the clearblue's I was looking at in Boots. 7 sticks for £19.99 (but they are doing a free Clearblue preg test with every clearblue product at the moment) its still pricey though. Am I right in thinking you POAS just like you would a preg test? Do you need to do it every day on your cycle or just around the time you think you expect to O?

yeah you do the same thing as pg tests unless you get the dip stick sort

yeah clear blue ones have def given me positives on the cycles I've been trying.good luck let us know how you get on.make sure your dates are right I'd suggest as at first I was working my cycles out wrong, thought I had 28 day cycle when in fact I hag 38 day cycle.as long as your dates r right you'll get a positive .good luck xxx

This is exactly what i did. But you have to be consistant and do it every morning until you get the positive. I did the First Response OPK because they are a littel less expensive then the CB OPK. Good luck andI hope this is your month! I hope you get your :bfp: and sending out bunches of :dust:

The past two cycles i've used cheapies and tested pretty much every day (except towards the end of my cycle) and i've never had a positive on them. I've used mid afternoon wee as it says not to use fmu i've kind of give up on them now, some people find them better than others good luck x

i've just bought a fertility monitor on ebay, ben thinking about it anyway so gonna give it a go

I agree with what Jo says about not using fmu, so tended to do mine when I got in from work. As I have only used cheapies I don't know if its the same for clearblue. I started using them at about cd11 (ish), as I think tend to ov late. I am just never sure when to stop using them!!!!! Once I get a positive I tend to be mo relaxed about it, and only do them if I think I have ov pain. I have only used them about 3 cycles, so might try it again this time.
