We've been co-sleeping since LO was born, feeding to sleep and LO has most of her naps on me, basically doing everything to 'make a rod for my back'. This morning however, I put LO down awake in her bed while I went to the loo. I came back and she was almost sleeping so I just left her there. She fell asleep by herself with no crying and no fuss. She started to wake up after half an hour but still didn't cry, I just rubbed her tummy and she went back to sleep. She then slept for another hour and woke up smiling. I was so worried that it would be a struggle to get LO to self-settle at some point in the future but she's shown me that she can do it easily with no tears. I felt under pressure to get into a routine or to try some kind of sleep training. But there's no need as this morning has shown. So, I'm going to continue the way I have been, following LO's lead and not forcing her to sleep alone. I haven't made her too clingy by allowing her to nap on me for the past 3 months. She's a calm and happy baby and I was right to trust my instincts :happydance:

Thanks for posting that.
I hope my lo does the same. I really hate the thought of pressuring her into a routine.

Alex has been sleeping with me after weeks of being in his own cot cause of teething and illness. Other than that, he usually doesn't want to sleep with me. It is possible and they do grow out of it. It all takes time.
