Hi all!

I have triede BF and in serious pain to the point I have cried during feeds and dread doing them. Decided it is best to move to formula - for my sanity as well as Erins and DH!

I have some questions though and hope for some help

I have read here that people make up bottles for the day - I guess I would do that as it says on the tin and when cool enough put in the fridge? How would I heat it up later and to what kinda temp?

I am not too sure I can BF again - will she be ok if I move straight to formula exclusively? I could try to express.....

Any help and tips would be amazing!
Thanks!

Hi, we switched when LO was 2 weeks old, I was exclusively expressing until then as LO would not latch. We were advised to switch 1 feed a day, so within a week he was 100% FF. That made it easier for me and my boobs!!!
I make up bottles in 2 batches, I make 2 in the evening, which are the breakfast and lunch, and then 3 in the morning which are the mid afternoon, teatime and then late evening ones.
Before LO was in this kind of routine I just made 3, then when I had one left in the fridge I made another 3. I cool them in a sink of cold water for about 10 mins before putting in the fridge.
I heat it in a jug of boiling water (found a bottle warmer to be a faff and a waste of time) and heat it until it is slightly warm on the inside of my wrist - just past the point where you can't feel it because it is the same temp as your arm, only a very little bit warmer.
HTH x
