frer not getting darker? (PHOTO ADDED)

Does anyone have any experience of frer tests NOT getting darker day by day when you are testing early?

I tested 9dpo, 10dpo and 11dpo and got a very faint (but definite) bfp on all of them. But they are not getting darker, in fact the last was probably a bit lighter.

To make it worse this is an ivf cycle so I had a hcg trigger shot 11 days before the 9dpo test, 12 days before the 10dpo test and 13 days before the 11dpo test. Very stupidly I did not test the trigger shot out fo my system - big mistake!

So now I am guessing the trigger is either leaving my body really late so they are false bfps, or the pg is not viable since hcg levels must be increasing very slowly or not at all?

Any thoughts?

PS - last time I had a bfp I had a quick dark result on frer on 14dpo.

I thought the HCG shot should be out of your system by now but it is still very early to be testing and getting really dark lines. Keep testing and if they get lighter or disappear all together then worry but hcg rises at different levels for each person, I hope the lines get darker for you.

You are what? 13 DPO today? When will they agree to do the beta? 16DPO? Have you tried switching HPT brands? To another red dye one.

I'm afraid you can only keep on testing since you never checked that it was out.... Is this your first IVF cycle? I can only imagine how anguished you are. Good luck and let us know!!!

No betas at my clinic!!! They never do them.

Not my first cycle either (you'd think so wouldn't you!!!). Just never been so silly as to test early before so didn't really know what i was doing!!

Was getting the faint tests on 9dpo, 10dpo and 11dpo (even lighter).
This morning, 12dpo, was a little darker for the first time, so am feeling hopeful again. What a rollercoaster!!!

Anyone know what Equate/Asda Fair Lady tests actually pick up. It says 25 units and I got bfp on that last night? Have seen some stuff on internet that it may pick up less, I wanted to try a harder test to get an idea if levels are rising.

hey thought i would tell you about me huni.....
my af was due on the 10/11/08 but it never came so done a test got bfp then done one next day got a faint bfp again then went on to get a bfn a week and a half later 2 weeks since af was due yesterday i got my very strong bfp again and i am about6/7 weeks or so just leave it a cuple of days and test again babes! X

Hmmm are you sure you are 6 or 7 weeks poppy? Just can't see how your hormonal level was there one day then not for a week and a half then back on. It sounds to me like you miscounted something and when you got the first faint BFP is when you were Oing and if you BDed again you conceived from then on.

I don't mean this to sound bad, just my 2 cents.

hi hun it looks to me kie the lines have gotten darker try not to worry. yes when test gets darker it could be a sign that hormones are getting stronger but someone can get faint lines and still producing high amounts of hcg.

good luck hunni try a different test like someone mentioned and i'm sure those lines will get even darker. x

poppy - i didnt realise you'd got your bfp in the end, i was following your thread YAY!!!! my tests actually went neg for a week too, but i started thinking i'd imagined the first bfp lol.

mayflower - that last one looks much darker than the rest, i'm really excited for you, i dont know anything about ivf or how it might be diff to natural conception, but that looks like it is an early bfp!!

They are getting darker definatly.

12dpo is a lovely dark line compared to 9/10 dpo.

I don't see why it would be getting darker from a trigger shot you had that long ago. If anything, it would get lighter, so I would say that last one is a BFP!!!

I think those lines look really good, try not to stress I think it is a true and not from the trigger shot. Congrats and I can not wait to hear you get it confirmed by the DR.
