Fried eggs!

Am I allowed these?? I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant (well I will be tomorrow) and this is my first pregnancy. I've heard so many rumours regarding what you can and can not eat and my biggest moan was that I couldn’t eat runny friend eggs! But I’ve now just read that this is fine. I’ve not yet seen a midwife to ask but eggs seem to be the only thing keeping my stomach settled right now and if I can throw a fried egg or two into the mix this would make me a much happier pregnant lump. Does anyone have any advise about this or any previous experience? Thanks

I eat eggs but I cook the yoke through. I don't want to take any chances with salmonella or e. coli.

You can eat eggs as long as they're fully cooked. Mmm, an egg sandwich with mayo sounds so good right now.

Hey hun, its advisable not to eat runny yolk during pregnancy. I love runny too but have had to have it hard Dont want to take any risks xx

You can have them just not runny due to salmonella. I only have scrambled at the moment as the only way to eat them fried, boiled or poached is runny in my opinion! Which I can't do!

I have been eating eggs throughout. I just make sure they are well cooked, no gooey egg white bits and that yolk is cooked properly. Can still have it a little runny but i'm just careful and cook a fried egg on both sides to b sure. Still delicious tho xx

Another few months till I can have me some runny egg's but I'm happy to settle for hard boiled or scrambled for my little poppet.

They say do not eat eggs that are runny. I like to cook bacon first and then fry it in bacon greese all the way through, its sooooooo amazing!

They say not runny but actually the scare was over-rated (anyone remeber the Egg-wina Curry headlines or am I the only one old enough here for that!). If the eggs are Lion branded the risk of salmonella is so tiny that they are considered safe. Raw eggs however are still to be avoided.

I'm still eating dippy eggs! We have our own hens who are fully vaccinated. I've been eating their eggs for the past 3 years with no trouble. You can also buy pasturised eggs from the supermarket so you could have those runny

These food things seem ridiculous to me!

I think I’m getting confused between raw eggs and runny eggs. No more cake mix for me, I get that. But cooked eggs with a runny centre? I was always told No but have heard a few people say actually as long as the white is full cooked it's fine?? I'm happy(ish) to not eat them if I have to but if there isn’t actually anything wrong with them I’m pretty desperate for one!

LOL, I remember old Egg-wina Curry and her salmonella scare...I worried about this last weekend when halfway through eating a fritata I realised some of the egg was not properly cooked through, some of the albumen was runny. They eggs were fresh and shop bought. I hope it's ok!

my doc actually told me british lion stamped eggs are fine now, even if u wanted them totally raw as in tests there was somethin like 1 in 100 000 boxes with even a trace of salmonella and none of the eggs contained the bacteria. even runny eggs tend to b left on the do not eat list as a precaution but just remember they only worried bout our risk of salmonella poisoning n how many ppl have u ever heard of gettin this from eggs nowadays in britain? id still avoid raw eggs or wen white is not fully cooked but a bit runny is fine xx
