Hi

I have had my first cycle of ivf this May/June and it failed sadly.

I have some frozen embryos and that will be the next step for us.

I just wanted to know whether anyone here has gotten pregnant using frozen embryos after a failed fresh cycle. Just wanted to hear some stories of hope.

I feel negative all the time like this is not meant to be for me so when I get my negative results I am already kind of resigned to it. Just wondering if anyone else feels that way too?

I know it's supposed to be all PMA but I just find it so difficult after the 100th negative pregnancy test.

Emotionally I staked a lot on my ivf I really thought it might just work so I was devastated when my bleeding started, way before my test was due as well :cry:

Also what is the frozen cycle like in terms of injections, appointments etc? I am assuming it is a lot less intensive than the fresh cycle?

My body refused to down regulate at first so I am not a textbook ivf patient if there is such a thing. Hopefully he frozen one goes better.

Also I would like them to put in at least two if they can don't care about multiple births at this point! Obviously I would say that :winkwink:

So sprry to hear your first IVF did not work :( totally understand you feeling despondent. I can't answer your questions, I'm just waiting for my first fresh cycle at the mo, but, I have read lots of stories of women getting their BFP from frozen cycles, and of course to be doing a frozen cycle you generally will have had a failed fresh cycle! So there is definitely hope. They know more about your body now so they will prob tweak your drugs I expect. Not sure what the protocol is from a frozen cycle though sorry.

I wonder why your AF started way before test day though? Did they have you on progesterone for the lp?

I have been looking at the rules for number of embryos to transfer, and it is quite strict in the uk, they are only allowed to put in two if you have none of great quality, are over 40 or have had three prior failed cycles. It's frustrating, but honestly, having had a premature baby and lost him, you really don't want to take the risk with twins lightly. The guidance is there for very good reasons.

Good luck with the frozen cycle!

I am so sorry your cycle failed.

My fresh cycled failed and both of my frozen ones were successful although the first one ended in ms.
We did natural frozen cycles meaning no injections. I went for the scans every couple of days staring CD10 ( 3 scans in total )to see the growth of the follicles and when they were the right size I used a trigger. 5/6 days later I went for the transfer. We only transferred one embryo and I was already planing my next transfer. In my head I was sure I am going to face another failure. Even the doctor during transfer said my embryo is not as " pretty " as the other ones.

Long story short 4dp5dt I had my first bfp. It was positive so early because I am having twins. Couple of days before the trigger me and DH had sex .I got pregnant naturally and from FT at the same time.

After years of infertility I was shocked ( so were the doctors ) but anyway, I was more relaxed during the process. With my fresh cycle I was sure I am gonna get my bfp. When I did not I was crushed.

I wasn't a textbook case also. I have overstimulated on climid and during my first Ivf being and the lowest dosage possible but I got there in the end and I truly believe you will too.

Hi Heres Hoping

Thank you so much hun for your kind words.

I have no idea why AF turned up way before she was due as well, hoping to get some answers at my next appointment but yes I was on the progesterone so was really very disappointed my blast didn't stick.

So sad to hear about your loss :hugs:and yes you are quite right it's not a risk I would want to take but when you are TTC the desperation is real! I feel like I want to maximise my chances by stuffing as many lil embies in as I can haha  but yep the guidance is there to prevent the kind of heartache you talk about. It's juts my hormones talking I guess.

I wish you all the best for your first fresh cycle and at least you know your womb allows implantation which is a huge advantage

Let us know how it goes xxx

OMG THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS :hugs::hugs:

Your post has made me feel so much better and given me hope and as I usually swing between high hopes and despondency this will help me with the low points.

Your story is amazing and happy you were finally blessed.

I think I put a lot of pressure on myself in terms of my first ivf, really stressed about it and no matter how much you try not to stress I just found it so hard to resist. I truly believe the day I relax and don't 'care' anymore is the day I conceive lol.

Looking forward to the frozen cycle now, feeling a bi more hopeful it can work. Going to try not to worry too much about my womb and hope it implants

Mrs Am. It's hard to relax during the process. As my doctor explained to my husband there is no on/off button and even if you think you are relaxed you still think about it. I got my BFP's when I truly gave up. ( I had one natural in the past a month before I was due to start with IUI but had a ms) . I cannot give you any advice and nobody knows how long it will take you . My doctor told me at least on of the frozen embies must work and that is what I had in my mind for the whole time ( if not this , then the next one ) .

I wish you good luck with the FT.
Also , I haven't done anything different after my transfer. I got up and cycled back home from the clinic. I did not do bed rest .I am a strong believer that if it meant to happen it will. Some women say it helped when they stayed in bed for couple of days, ate pineapple. Just do whatever you feel comfortable with. Good luck again.
