Funded nursery hours - when to apply?

Does anybody know when it's the 'norm' to apply for the free nursery places? What age is LO normally?

I rug the pre-school I'd Like El's to attend in July and put his name down for SeP 2012. I'd suggest calling those you are interested in and asking what they're policy is.
